The compass are not allowed to be too close to the magnetic field, the pointer maybe disturbed, please use away from magnetic fields. 2. Luminous effect refers to the phosphor powder under natural light, fluorescent lamp, etc, can be seen after irradiation. For the longer the irradiation time, luminous indication is more durable. There is no luminous effect without light. Description: Offering a little different style to the traditional military style compass, there is no flip up optic to peer through (like in a traditional lensatic compass). This model uses a true sighting optic that allows you a direct read of the internal compass card housed in the fluid filled capsule. And the vertical lubber line of the sighting optic lets you take full advantage of the 1 degree resolution used on the compass card. The clinometer allows the measuring of differences in height and slopes.

Extremely poor quality.
This compass is garbage. The wind rose, dial and all other visual indicators look nice, very crisp and neat. However, the capsule is skewed in the base and isn't concentric to the adjustable dial which makes it very difficult to use. Also, the dial is improperly weighted- the entire unit must be tilted down approximately 18 degrees to get the dial to float without rubbing the floor of the compass. If you don't tilt it, the dial rubs and does not point to magnetic north. Worse, if you DO tilt it to get it to rotate freely, you can't use the eyeppiece to look at the bearing on the wind rose because it's no longer visible through the eyepiece. Lastly, the clinometer pendulum fell off at some point, and I was unable to find it. So, I guess returning it is out. It's very inexpensive, which is awesome- but then again, 20 bucks for garbage is 20 bucks too much. If you want to have a functional, accurate lensatic style compass this is NOT the one to buy.

All and all this was the best price for the same product that I seen for ...
Solid and heavy design. You can feel the weight when it's in your hand. The clinometer is made out of thin metal but is very accurate when giving you the angle. All and all this was the best price for the same product that I seen for $25.99 and $49.99. I'll be using this Compass a lot in the field and I'm sure I'll get plenty of years of use out of it.

Good product but heavy
Its heavier than i anticipated great quality accept the incline its flimsy and could break easy but overal its a great compass i was just wishing it was lighter. 4star not because my wrong perception but for the flimsy inclinometer. It will take a beating but not for a minimallist thats for shure. its a great one for a survial kit though. That is where i keep mine now as it is to heavy to justify for the backpacking trips but it would hold up to a military standard i am shure. it is easy to read and I would highly recomend for someone who did not care about weight.

The inclinometer is cheap and flimsy and the compass body is cast metal but it works great. I just removed the inclinometer as it gets in the way. No case or how-to guide, no easy way to attach a lanyard. It's heavier than I expected.

Well made. Sturdy.
I'm not a compass professional by any means whatsoever, but I can tell that this was very well made, super solid, etc. If you want a nice compass that won't break and isn't expensive (and also has a lot of nice features that I don't even know what they're for :P), this is the one to buy.

Good compass
Not the highest quality, and pretty heavy, but overall it will do the trick. I would prefer a lighter unit. I would keep this for short hikes, that require more detailed orienteering. Not for a fast-light user that only needs basic orienteering.

Nice and well built
Nice and heavy, well built, didn't come with instruction tho. Could really use instruction to see how all the features work and how to use them. Could use a spot for a lanyard as well

Had to return it.
The plate was tilted stuck, otherwise, looked and felt pretty heavy and solid. If it wont point North, doesn't matter.
