The loss of Lucas Turner in a paddling accident prompted his family to work with John Hopkins University on a project called the Whitewater Head Impact Protection Project and WRSI helmets were the result. They feature a multi-layered impact-resistance system with a Lexan EXL outer shell twice the impact strength of standard ABS shells. An important feature is the chin strap that is looped continuously throughout the shell to decrease helmet rotation, protecting the forehead. All helmets have vents. Sizes: Small/Medium (19-21.5") or Medium/Large (21.25-23.25").
