Takes good pictures
We bought this for our granddaughter. Like most children (8) she's a whizz with technology and had shown grandpa how to use different functions on his identical model camers. She's taking seriously good pictures and videos with it.

Good rugged camera
This is a good little camera. It produces decent images for a camera in this price range- not the best quality, but, in return, you get a device that can withstand a lot of punishment, and can also be used under water, which is one of its major selling points. It's simple to use, and Nikon has worked hard on the user interface, which is simple and slick. It comes with built-in filters, which are OK, but could easily be bettered by software on a PC. It has a nice variety of shooting modes, which are actually very usable, and include such things as a preset for photographing fireworks.I got the orange camera. At first it looks a little lurid, but if you're going to use it for underwater photography, it turns out that the orange colour makes it very easy to find in a swimming pool if you've dropped it!The biggest competitor for this camera is the smartphone - many phones now have cameras with a higher pixel-counts, and some very sophisticated features, so why would someone buy this? Well, it's a good camera, and produces good results. It's rugged and can can stand up to more punishment than almost any phone, and it can be used under water. It also has a better lens than most smartphones, and that is a significant factor - this camera takes much better photographs than many phones with higher pixel-count sensors. This is a very good, simple, resilient point-and-shoot camera. It has been well thought out, and does what it sets out to do very well. Recommended.

A fantastic kids camera
My 8 year old daughter uses this camera when we go out for walks. It is ideal for her. She can take photos or videos while walking without me worrying that she might drop and smash it. It is even waterproof, though we haven’t tested this aspect yet. It feels quite tough, much better quality than I was expecting for the price. I would say it’s more of a kids camera than for adults, but it is a great kids camera.

A good xmas present
The W150 is an attractive little point and shoot camera, giving impressive results. I particularly like the flash output, which does not flood the subject in too much light. Featutes include being water and shock proof, though how the SD card and battery hatch withstands water I can only guess. At the front, the zoom lens is covered.Controls are haphazard, unfortunately. Zoom is handled by the click wheel rather than a dedicated lever or rocker, though there is a dedicated button for shooting movies. However, four unlabelled buttons left of the screen handle everything else, from settings to uploads, rather than a dedicated menu button. Given there is a click wheel for navigation, this seems strange. There is no way to upload media to a PC, filesrrver or cloud from the camera. You either take the SD card out and stick it in a PC slot or have to use a rather flakey mobile app. Then, the connection takes place via Bluetooth or the camera WiFi depending on what quality of media file you are uploading. However, you can use your mobile as a remote control, with its own view of the scene. Why would you want to do that? Because mobiles generally do not have optical zoom, so digital zoom on a mobile just reduces the image quality.Charging is via microUSB, so use any source you want, though a charger is provided, as well as a wrist strap. At this price point, there are.many alternative cameras to choose from, though few would be waterproof and shockproof, or would be so attractive as the W150. A good xmas present!

Terrible picture quality
Really disliked this camera. I was hoping as it was a Nikon that it would be of great quality like their dslr cameras but this was appalling. The colour was nice and vibrant but that was as far as it went. The quality of the pictures was inferior to a mobile phone therefore I cannot justify the price tag on this camera when it would be far cheaper to use the mobile phone and take better pictures.

Not Yet Supported on iOS 13
I tried to sync on two different devices after downloading the app and doing the recommended update, even after all that it was still not able to locate the camera on either device. There is a notification that some Nikon cameras are not currently compatible with iOS 13 which after this length of time and with beta previews to test prior to release is seriously dragging their heals. Neither of my Canon cameras has any such issues and one is an older model. So the Nikon camera loses a star for that alone. The actual camera has some pretty cool features and is easy to set up & use. The battery and SD car live in the same compartment with a double lock to seal it in. The battery life is okay but even after only a couple short uses has already gone down a fair bit.I've taken one photo with flash and without so you can compare. The actual image quality isn't great for CMOS there still seems to be that telltale Nikon interpolation. I had expected better and my little mirrorless Canon gives me much crisper images. However, all that being said I believe this is aimed primarily at kids and in that case is a very good, compact starter camera, with some really fun features and filters to play around with. Clear instructions as well as cleaning if debris from, say the beach gets where it shouldn't.Overall a good little compact starter camera to have fun with, in a wide range of conditions. Recommend.
