High-end item that works very well
This is a great unit. The exhaust fan works extremely well and while it isn't the quietest unit on the market, it isn't too loud. The heater is a great add-on for wintertime and the low-wattage night light is a surprisingly useful feature.I got this as a replacement for a unit that wore out after many decades of service. The design is unchanged. The screws, electrical connectors, chassis, etc. are all the same so I could swap the guts of the unit in less than 15 minutes. This one appears to be just as good as the one that finally wore out. This is an expensive exhaust fan, but given that the last one ran reliably for decades, it is well worth the money. If you're replacing an old one, this will slot right in with no issue. If you're doing a new install, it requires a lot of physical prep and wiring. If I had to install one of these from scratch, I'd probably hire a handyman to help.

Simple replacement for older version
I have a 50 year old house. Not sure how long the old bathroom fan, identical to the Broan 9093WH, has been there. The noise level was bad. About 65dB. It was a relief to turn it off. The noise level was very bothersome. I didn't want to cut a whole new opening so I ordered the 9093WH 70 CFM 1500w fan, heater, light and nightlight unit. I removed the entire motor/heater/fan assembly from the old unit and the new assembly fit exactly into the old can in the ceiling. I plugged the wiring harness connector of the new assembly into the old connector on the can. Everything works. I don't have wiring installed for the nightlight as the old unit didn't have one. This was the easiest fan replacement I have ever done. The best part is the sound level of the new exhaust fan is only 50 dB. When searching all the options for units with heat and light, I was leaning toward other models because of the lower sone ratings. This unit is rated at 3 or 4 sones. 4 sones is about 49 dB. It is so much quieter than the old unit. Some reviews say this fan is loud. No, it is not. My old fan was loud. This one you can hear, but it doesn't assault your senses like the old one. BTW, I never write reviews. I thought I should in case you are considering this unit and are wondering about the noise level.

Excellent upgrade
The media could not be loaded. It replaced 40-year-old fan with similar design. The difference in loudness is very significant. I also replace the one part of this switch with Amazon purchased timer so instead of having a night light it controls the fan so you can leave it after you are done in the bathroom.Professional electrician installed everything since it was complicated with replacing the entire enclosure going to attic in a tight space and hooking up the wires correctly to the new timer.Overall great value, excellent upgrade and I highly recommend this unit!

Nutone 9093 is a great heat and vent unit if you take time to maintain it and keep it clean.
I have 2 Nutone 9093 units and over many, many years I have had others as well. The design is a great design - you get either heating for the bathroom or you can vent the steam from the shower out of the room plus you get an overhead light. The older original units holding the blower motors were heavy and made from non-galvanized steel sheet. They were able to absorb small vibrations that the fans would cause when they picked up lint and dust on their squirrel wheel blades. ( I wish that I had kept the older models and painted the parts that were showing signs of rust instead of buying newer units). The newer models have units that are made from galvanized steel which does not rust like the older models but is not as "solid or stiff". The current units are more likely to vibrate more from out of balance blower motor shafts or squirrel wheel fans that become coated with dust and lint. Consequently, to insure that the units are not noisy, I have to clean my units twice a year - which includes removing the unit from the ceiling (easy to do), cleaning out all of the dust, and lint and tweaking the blower motor shafts so the squirrel wheel fans are balanced.I am always amused by the number of bathrooms that I have visited that have ceiling vent fans and either they don't work or they are noisy and vibrate. If you don't maintain units such as these they will get really noisy and/or stop working.Units such as these have to be maintained and if they are the units will heat and vent your bathroom perfectly for a long time. Nutone maintains a good stock of replacement parts if you ever need them.I gave the unit 4 stars because it takes a bit more maintenance that I would like - but they are few other units available which give you both heat and vent in one unit.

Made it so easy to replace an old fan/light.
Loved that it was easy to replace an old failed fan. Unusual to find ceiling fan replacements that don't require you to tear out the old unit and destroy the ceiling. Works great too.

Great features - fan, night light, light and heater in one!
I ordered this fan based on the bells and whistles it came with and it works just as described. I will say that it's large, so double check the measurements before you buy and it required being put on its own fuse in the fuse box (I had contractors install it so can't speak to how easy it was or wasn't to install) - price seems reasonable for everything it does and so far works well. I did want a noisier fan for privacy since my condo is small, and this does make a fair amount of noise so fits my needs nicely.
