601 Great Scrapbook Ideas Kindle Edition

I am a beginner at scrapbooking! Need ideas, but once I get an idea…. How do I do it?! This book does very few “how tos” and the few instructions are so above my “pay grade” they were of little help. If looking for a “how to scrapbook” this is not your book! It only cost me $6 so I’ll keep for some ideas, other wise I would return. The ideas are great…. Just how do I do them….?!

I am just becoming involved with digital scrapbooking and although I have a long history of involvement with tools like Photoshop and Illustrator, I'm not well versed in scrapbooking techniques. Nor, frankly, do I have the imagination to conceive of free-flowing, often spontaneous layouts as so many of the practitioners featured in this book do. It is one thing to design catalogs, brochures, ads and other promotional materials - and another thing altogether to design cool scrapbooking pages. The editors asked their readers to submit their scrapbok pages (traditional and digital), received thousands and chose these 601. This is not a book of instructions, but of examples. To make use of the examples, you will have to know know scrapbooking techniques or be willing to experiment and learn how to achieve the effects in the examples. The editors do, helpfully, provide a list of the supplies that went into each layout, an essential since many of the layouts use embellishments which aren't necessarily clear from the pictured layouts. Overall, this is a treasure chest of scrapbooking layout ideas. You can't put this book down without having an idea or two for your next creation.Jerry

This scrapbooking book is primarily filled with a multitude (601?) of photos of actual scrapbook pages. There are many examples that should generate loads of projects.However, there are no instructions for any of the pages or techniques, and most of the photos are rather small, especially if you are visually challenged in any way (get out the magnifying glass).The book is a good resource, but if you are looking for instructional techniques, recommend you choose a different book. If you are just looking for ideas, then this will be a great book to add to your collection.

All the pages look pretty much the same, nothing unique or exciting.

I am a beginner scrapbooker, but I must say that Memory Makers books are by far the best! I own five different Memory Makers idea books, and I LOVE THEM!! You can't go wrong (with any of them). There are so many creative and unique layout designs, embellishment and journaling ideas, and the page titles... you can really use all of the ideas in their books, and add your personal touch to make a page truly your own. For all who scrap on a budget (like me), there are TONS, and I mean TONS, of ideas to put all of your odds and ends to good use!! This book and all of the other Memory Makers books out there, have really taken my creativity in scrapbooking to the next level...

I was disappointed in this book. Every page seemed the same and it was geared to digital scrapbooking.

Not very user friendly

Gives a great overall picture of building a scrapbook page for all occasions? Plenty of inspiration to keep scrapping for ages.

It's alright, nothing that I thought. Very complicated and expensive designs I think.

This has loads of ideas for scrapbooking and I would highly recommend to anyone running out of ideas for layouts.

This book does what it says on the tin - page after page of lovely layouts to enjoy and gain inspiration from. Other reviewers who have slated this book because it doesn't provide step-by-step instructions ought to have read the cover blurb a bit more carefully!

Gut, da dies Buch ausgesehen hatte, als wär's ein Bilderbuch, war ich drauf gefasst u.U. eine wilde Ansammlung von Ideen vorzufinden. Der Teil meiner Erwartungen wurde auch erfüllt.Allerdings hätte ich doch etwas mehr an Systematik erhofft, so ein paar konkrete Grundlagen der Seitengestaltung. Zumindest zur Verteilung der Bilder - da gibt's sowas wie den Goldenen Schnitt.Vielleicht auch ein paar Anregungen für Text. Stattdessen ist es wirklich eine Riesensammlung von Bildseiten mit eindeutiger Vorliebe für Kinderbilder. Mich hat das Buch deshalb auch nicht zum eigenen Tun motiviert. Aber, wer gern blättert und einfach schaut ... Ein Bilderbuch eben!
