got caught up in the hype about 'San Marzano' tomatoes best for sauce etc
Thought I'd give them a go having started cooking Pizza in a wood fired oven at home, got caught up in the hype about 'San Marzano' tomatoes best for sauce etc.... I must be missing something, before I made a sauce with them I had some with a cooked breakfast to give them a sampling, they are nice but not earth shattering.

Yummy yum yums: love them and want more!
My OH had to really convince me that these were going into our shopping. Oh my goodness - where can I purchase these fresh?! They are the tastiest, sweetest, most delicious tomatoes I have ever eaten. They are that good!! Even better than any of the fresh tomatoes we have ever purchased. My OH is a real foodie so I am more than happy that he persuaded me for us to try these. If you want to make a tomato sauce (not ketchup) for a special meal then purchase these. They are worth it and they are delicious!

Not sure
They are very tasty but not sure they are good value for money.Where a tin of cheaper ones and some puree are just as good.

Tasty products.
They are sweet and really tasty, though rather difficult to remove from tins .

Authentic taste of Italy!
The wife wanted to try this variety of tomato after seeing them regularly on Italian cookery programs, so we bought a case to try. I think her Bolognese tastes even better.

OK but not great. Poor value.
We have not tried this brand before but took a punt. Sadly we were quite disappointed by the quality. San Marzano should be bright red, sweet and flavourful. These are dull, and not at all sweet. They are OK tomatoes I guess, but I can get better ones in the supermarket for much, much less. At this price they should be excellent. We will stick to the well known yellow labelled ones in future.

Depends on Application.
Ok, so they are San Mariano Tomatoes, but not skinned and tough piths still attached. Needed to be sorted after opening and before using for cooking. Debatable whether I would buy again.

Superior taste
Slightly watery but it's hard to state how much better San Marzano tomatoes are than the rubbish you can buy in the supermarkets
