Very sturdy with 10 inch AR500 plates, could easily hold heavier. Easy to set up, break down, and store. Easier to store than the H shaped metal stands.

These are overbuilt and can take a beating. With a 12x20" steel target mounted, I've hit it with 9mm, 10mm, 45, 5.45, .300 and .308. I've had this fall, numerous times while shooting. I hammered the bolt from a 10mm 1911 at 15yds and instead of the bolt breaking it bent a little but rattled so much so the nut came loose and dropped the plate. I bought 2 mote thinking I would break the bolt eventually. 2000 rounds later and still in one piece but showing it's use. Totally worth it.

These are exactly what you are looking for if you type in 2x4 target holders. Look no further. I have always used quick 2x4 target stands when we go to the range. Assemble and throw in the back of the truck, I’ve always used paper and just threw it away. I got 5 different steel targets for a gift and now I needed to set them up with my stands. I got these and they are exactly what I needed. Perfect to set up and keep plinking. Mine have taken a few rounds directly on the bolt and spring. Bullets have torn up the print but they still work very well. Highly recommend

I purchased this mounting kit as well as a 2x4 stand system. Everything seems very sturdy and good quality except one of the bolts from this kit for mounting my steel target came with some chips in the threads. The nuts are unable to screw past the tip of the bolt because of the damage so I cannot tighten it onto the mounting stand. I have some extra nuts and bolts at home and can use the mount but I am hoping for a replacement to get one of the correct size.

This is a great bracket for temporary setups - you do not need to permanently mount this to the 2x4.I have the top cross-bolt permanently installed in the bracket; I just slip the bracket over the top of the 2x4 so that the cross-bolt is resting on top of the board, I insert the metal shim, tighten the Allen screw, and that's it.The target this holds has taken quite a few hits, yet no apparent damage to the carriage bolt (though I would have appreciated a spare).

the range I visit is 1.5 hrs away. great that i can assemble this at the site and disassemble while in transportation. just make sure the base's 2x4 is longer, after 1 shot on steel plate the thing toppled over, by no means this is the fault of this product, just my 2x4 should be cut longer for more stability.

After only 15 shot at 100m of surplus 7.62x54R the bolt face snap clean. Really disapointed.
