... till I washed it - with cold water on delicate in a non-agitating washer. It is now a tunic. It shrank a good ten inches in length and now has to be worn with shorts.The trim shredded, the embroidery unraveled quite a bit, the single thread holding the sequins, plus the sequins, fell off. To be fair, this is to be expected with all like garments. You have to attach sequins much better by hand than the flimsy single thread that is usual for this type of dress; I usually do this with dresses that I actually care to keep the sequins on for an additional hand wash or three. However, I wasn’t expecting the trim to shred; it didn’t fall off, but it fell apart.I can live with the shredding trim, the loss of sequins, the unraveling of embroidery - this is additional decorative stuff that is not critical to the overall quality or structure of the dress. The lengthwise shrinkage, however, totally sucks. Having to wear even bicycle shorts under this former dress rather negates the point and purpose of buying a “dress” for the tropics. The tropics are awfully hot, and humid, and you really do not want to wear anything you don’t absolutely have to.At least it didn’t shrink too much around, fits fine and does not have the huge gaping armholes most other plus sized items have - a definite plus.Update: washed this thing by hand and hung it up to dry on a hanger; possibly due to not having gone through a spin cycle it was still pretty heavy with water at the bottom seams when hung on a hanger and it stretched out by some 3 inches due to sheer water weight. The trim disintegrated even more despite the handwashing and having been trimmed down. It still requires bicycle shorts or something underneath to wear. It lost a lot of blue ink but the dye pattern is still pretty and the material is not see-through, provided one wears grey undergarments or something equally neutral underneath that doesn’t stand out too much from skin color.

Returning. Pretty dress, however the sequin work is extremely low quality. Upon arrival sequins were already missing, bent and loose (see pictures). Even with hand washing, the stitching is so poor (loose, with all of them sewn together with one single continues thread) that they will definitely all fall off eventually. Would not recommend.

I own 5 Riveria dress now and love them all. The key to keeping this dress from running colors is washing it alone the first few washes with a color catch sheet and some white vinegar. Hang dry. To me it is worth babying these dresses because they are fun, cute, great for the hot summer and affordable.

This very pretty dress came quickly and as soon as I opened it I knew it was too small. I wear many of their dresses and ones like them. I could’ve kept it but I felt the shoulders weren’t very wide for a 1x so sadly it went back.I cannot tell you how beautiful this dresses color and sequins made it but the sizing is slightly smaller than I’m accustomed.

This seems to look a bit "cheap". I think it's the sprinkling of holographic sequins that contribute to that impression. I'm planning to carefully snip them off. The brown wooden beads at the ends of the neckline ties are also a "cheap-looking" odd contrast. I wouldn't buy something in this style again. The dress was also a bit tight in the bust for my size.

Love this dress. The color, feel and quality are great. Fits well and I almost feel naked its so soft. Two design flaws in my few. One is the arm holes are a bit too big - and your bra shows under your arms pretty noticeably. I got a medium and I always where a medium but maybe I should have got a small. Also the little sequins are sewn on with one long thread so on the back side you have these long treads between sequins and they can easily snag. Otherwise I love it!

Love, love, love this dress! This dress fits me very well. It’s comfortable and well made. I am impressed, the side seams are finished with a French seam, which means there is no raw fabric showing. The raw edges are enclosed so the edges will not fray when washed. They also lie very flat reducing bulk and doesn’t leave a bumpy feel to the seam. For the low price I paid, this extra effort impresses me. The coloring is exactly as pictured, a denim blue, tie dye. The embroidery is well done, possibly by machine. I could give only 4 stars because of the way the sequins are sewn on, a singlethread was used. When the seamstress came to the end of a length of thread she left a long tail, no knot! Even if I hand wash the dress I’m likely to loose sequins due to the loose threads! My toes have already caught in the threads! I didn’t expect sequins on the dress, so I may decide to just take them off, not really a big deal to me.

The fabric is thin and very light weight. The size 3x is more like a 2x/3x. I could have easily worn 4x in this product just because I like things looser around my chest (46DD). Easy to get on and off. I agree with another review that it's less than perfect. The design on the front isn't properly set with the top seams, so when you put it on the design skews to the right instead of dead center. Also the 'lace/tie up' is just another embellishment, it doesn't do anything. And as the other review noted the embellishments are very lightly attached, some strings not tied off, so check yours over carefully so you don't lose any of the sparkles before you even wear it. This would be a 1 summer sort of item, I don't expect it to hold up for too long if you wore it and were very active in it. It's prefect for what I bought it for - a hot June day at the park. I expect I'll get a few wears out of it with some capri leggings under it.
