This vendor ships fresh product. Appreciated!
I've purchased the real Diet Coke syrup from a few different vendors based on their Amazon price. Every time I'd receive the carton, it was at or past expiration date. This vendor, unlike any other vendor I've used, ships fresh product which I appreciate. So, now I only buy Diet Coke syrup from AllYouNeed&1More.

After some initial issues, I got it to work well with my SodaStream
TLDR: It's great, once you get the mix right (described in the last paragraph). This arrived 12 days after it said it shipped, thankfully during the cold part of the year. I worry about it sitting in hot trucks for so long when it gets up to over 100F (38C). The box arrived inside another box just big enough to fit it, but this is 5 gallons, which should be 42lbs, and it is; I weighed it on my bathroom scale - 42.6lbs. If you've ever picked up a full, 5-gallon fish tank, it's that, in a box. I think these boxes probably fair better when you order a bunch of them in a stack, wrapped in plastic on a pallet, as restaurants would. One box, however, trundling along through warehouses, being tossed from truck to truck, bulges quite a bit, which leaves some space inside for the bag to slosh around. The connector on the end of the bag seems to have punched right through the box as well, or something punched into the void on that side. The syrup bag inside tore from the impact. Thankfully it's a 2-layer bag, and only the outer layer ripped (see first 3 pics), but that was a close one! That would've been a real mess. The second problem was my fault - I was still thinking in terms of the SodaStream syrups, which I'd just received and started using a week prior. I filled it to the line, carbonated the water, then filled a cleaned cap from a finished SodaStream syrup bottle to the middle line with Diet Coke syrup, mixed it in, and it was the worst DC I'd ever had. It made me feel a bit nauseous. Then I remembered the DC syrup was supposed to be a 1:5 ratio, and spent probably 20-30 minutes lost in math problems, trying to figure out how to get the right mixture in a system that uses unlabeled fill-to lines. This involved a glass measuring cup, lots of filling, pouring, writing down ml numbers, and trying out slightly-less-terrible Diet Coke mixtures, while thinking maybe the box had gone bad. As the label shows, there was just under 2 months until it was past the Best By date.A friend suggested the contents may have settled, so I did an awkward, end-over-end, back and forth, wiggly shaking of the box for a few minutes, trying to mix it up really well. It actually worked. It became drinkable, but not amazing. The fill line in the SodaStream 1L bottle is 850ml. If you divide that by 5, you get 170. Add 850 back in, for 6 parts total (1DC + 5 carbonated water), it comes to 1,020ml, which is about 1/8" shy of the top of the bottle - perfect! However, it was a bit weak, and didn't taste very good to me. I tried it a few times with the same results, and then I began experimenting with heavier ratios.Ultimately, what worked for me in a repeatable way (I've done it many times now) was filling the 1L SodaStream bullet-shaped bottle to the fill line, carbonating it to level 3 (of 3 - I have the OneTouch model - 3rd button does 7 shots of carbonation), then dumping out exactly a level, quarter cup of the carbonated water (I use a measuring cup), then filling it right to the top with the Diet Coke syrup. This makes a great Diet Coke. It's not *quite* McDonald's Diet Coke (the best, IMO), but it's not far off. I'm quite happy with it. 1/4cup is about 60ml. Moving that 60ml from the water to the DC changes it from a 170ml:850ml (1:5) mix to a 230ml:790ml (~1:3.5) mix. I don't know if my syrup has just weakened somehow, but when this one runs out, I'll pick up another, and try the 1:5 mix again. I love not having to lug a ton of diet coke boxes home from the grocery store now. I have as much Diet Coke as I want, for months, with no cans or bottles filling up my trash bins. I'm looking into smaller containers for the fridge to chill the syrup, too, to see if that makes it taste even better.

Diet Coke with my Soda Stream - Great!
Great being able to enjoy Diet Coke with my Soda Stream. Especially since its getting harder and harder to find their products around town. I cut back the water in my bottles by about an inch prior to carbonating. I then add 150ml of the Diet Coke syrup and I have Diet Coke at home.
