Brilliant!
I just received this book and the notation is spot on!To be honest, I was expecting much as the album, Grand Ukulele, didn't do it for me quite like his previous album Peace Love and Ukulele. But the fact that every song is played using only one ukulele, compared to his previous album/book where you often required two or three ukes. It's a great book and I would definitely advice everyone to get this.If you haven't got either of Jakes tablature books, I'd recommend getting this first, as the overall level in this is slightly easier and requires less ukes.

Accurate Transcriptions- surprisingly accessible to the mid-level uker
Similar to the earlier Hal Leonard book for Peace, Love + Ukulele ( Peace Love Ukulele ), this set of tabs and standard notation accurately transcribes Jake's wonderful music very well. While the songs on Grand Ukulele are generally easier to play and the arrangements more simplistic than on his previous album PLU, I feel like the transcriber has improved the accuracy for voicings and fingerings this time- to me, the tabs have less of a guitar feel and more of a native uke design.Get the book, support Jake and spread the Aloha!

Good book, but not on kindle
This is great music, and fun to try to sound like Jake (ha!), but I shouldn't have bought the Kindle version. It's awkward to work with -- I can't see the tabs clearly, have to magnify, then stop and close the window to turn the page. Too frustrating. I will never buy a Kindle music book again. The format just doesn't suit playing an entire song smoothly.

Review.
The book had wrinkles as if someone had used it before I received it in the mail. The ad says it was a new item.

A must-buy for instrumental uke players!
Jake Shimabukuro's music for the ukulele and his playing style are an inspiration for anyone intent on playing the ukulele as a solo instrument. The music here ranges from accessible to challenging, never less than packed with the man's love of the ukulele. It's infectious and a joy to play...even badly!

Brilliant but difficult.
Very advanced music but beautiful. You need to be a competent guitarist or ukulele player.

content is great- but kindle version unreadable garbage
First of all this review is about the kindle version - not the book content. I will discuss the content below. The sheet music is not readable in the kindle view- either on a tablet or even on a high res laptop screen- it is simple too small. You cannot zoom. All zoom achieves is enlarging the copyright text at the bottom of the page. It is also extremely cumbersome to move pages while playing. I strongly advise against purchasing this product. That said, the tabs are great. There are only a few songs I wanted, so it is not great value. I purchased the songbook which is fine, and wanted the kindle version while traveling so also purchased it, which was a big mistake- should have packed the book! The tabs make some wonderful songs, especially 'fields of gold' very easy to play.
