DELICIOUS AND SO HEALTHY!!
There was an unfortunate mix-up in what the Seller sent to me on the first go-round, but they completely refunded my cost for the first order and got it right when I ordered them a second time. Delicious!! I bought these after searching out foods with barley in them, because I had read that barley in the morning can fill you up and keep you feeling full as the day goes on--thus, controlling your appetite. I read that barley also sets your metabolism to help you lose weight.I enjoy two of these with an egg in the morning - sometimes for lunch too! I run warm water over both sides for about 10 seconds, then salt each side just a little. Cut them into bite-size pieces in a bowl, chop a semi-hard boiled egg over top, warm in the microwave, if needed, AND ENJOY!! Quick, delicious, nutritious, and just plain healthy! They also control my appetite just like I read that they would.Don't be alarmed when you get these these--they are hard but soften up when you run water on them for about 10 seconds and let them sit for a few minutes. I've heard that these will last about a year without going bad because they've been dried.

Awful
These things were hard as a rock and the bag was ripped.

Outer husks are irritating
I WOULD Really Like Them -- if they didn't have liiiiidle pieces of hard indigestible outer husk that get caught in my teeth and throat.Other than that-- yes they taste good, especially when dunked into broth or wine. And they are expensive.

We loved the food in Greece and decided to try these rusks. They arrived promptly and we like the flavor. You do have to soak them in something. We sprinkle them with a little Greek olive oil and then dip them in oil and balsamic. Very good and *very* filling!

Hearty, healthy, and versatile rusks!
These traditional Cretan rusks are typically used to make dakos salad, but they also make excellent additions to soups and in other foods where you want some grain bulk. Out of the bag they are very hard and must be softened with water, wine, broth, etc. before eating. Despite their hardness they are not stale; in fact, they will last a good year from the time they're made. Size-wise these are not the mini rusks, which are about the size of two large croutons; they are the medium size ones a bit smaller than a hockey puck (but maybe a bit thicker). The bag itself weighs almost two pounds, which is why shipping is a bit costly. If you can't get Cretan rusks locally then ordering them is the next best thing.

Perfect for Ntakos
These risks arrived intact. A brief dip in water, good olive oil, a grated tomato and mizritha ( or soft feta) and you have s tremendous appetizer or light meal. Those that complain about how hard they are didn’t understand how to use them. Used correctly you can’t beat these.
