Guys, the tastes amazing! I don’t know how people post that it has a terrible taste. Maybe they are dropping it into their mouths directly? Don’t do that. I used it as directed: with water and take in one swallow! It has the very, almost flowery/herbal smell, like a very pleasant tea. I love taking a few whiffs of it before drinking. I experience zero bad taste from this after. Put in 1-2 ounces of water. I used 15 drops. Perhaps use more water if you find it strong, but it’s pretty mild to me in my 2 ounces of water. It seems to work well to put my mind in the right mood and prevent stress. I’m dealing with sever PPD that has been going on for a year, causing me extreme anxiety. I’m not currently breastfeeding. Anyway, I’m searching for natural remedies so I gave this a try. I’m only going to use this as directed-1 month but will likely continue a month after I stop using it. Every other month until my hormones sort themselves out. I’m so far happy with the results and if you use as directed you should be ok there as far as taste.

I ordered this because I have a heart condition and the only thing I've found that will stop my racing heart is valium. I don't like taking drugs, but I'd read that this was considered herbal valium so I decided to try it. Had tried several other natural things but none worked. I must say, this stuff tastes HORRIBLE. You're supposed to mix it with a little water, but YUK! However, it has stopped my racing heart all 3 times I've used it so far. I've not had any of those bizarre dreams some people talk about. It seems to make my lip temporarily numb, weird, but I'll take that any day over a racing heart. Per the bottle though, very tough on your liver, so probably not a good choice for heavy drinkers or people with pre-existing liver issues.

This is the best liquid extract I have ever found on the market. Clean, strong, effective, consistent. Some are more potent - but have artificial additives and dyes (polysorbate 80, glycerin, Red 50 etc.). None of that in here.The only "drawback" someone may find is the taste. Can be a little bitter, and will make your tongue numb. The numbness is due to the kavalactone concentration.

The bottle that arrived was not the 'Extra strength' version even though the title of this product says extra strength. I will adjust my rating after this listing is corrected.In terms of product performance, I have to say that I was just trying out a tincture version to see how it works. I did not like it.1. The amount of Kavalactones is low compare do the Natrol capsules I had tried before. The effect is clearly not there for me.2. Each dose is 20 drops and has a tiny amount of kavalactones. So you need to take a lot of this tincture - which is hard to do. You also have to consume a lot of alcohol - which I felt uncomfortable about. In the end, I judged that a tincture is not the way to go for me, personally.As for the product itself, it is probably quite well made. It just wasn't for me. And I felt that the misleading title is unacceptable

I love how this relaxes me quickly, with no hangover or bad side effects. Unless you consider your tongue going a little numb for a while a bad side effect. I don't :). Loses stars bc it was $13.59 and now it's $29.00 for same bottle, which is WAY too high.

I've tried many brands of Kava over the years and this is the beast. It's more expensive but it works better for me than the others. I use it on occasional nights when I can't get to sleep.

I bought this to help my anxiety and sleeplessness. I looked up some information on the product and figured I was good to go. When it arrived, the only issue I had was that this is extracted with alcohol. There are two ways to buy a tincture like this, one is mixed with water, the other with alcohol. The problem with mixing this with alcohol is that it can damage your liver. Kava Kava had already been the subject of investigation for liver damage, even the bottle tells you that you can't drink or take tylenol (also processed by the liver) while taking this. If you want to try Kava Kava I suggest you find one that is mixed with water.That being said, I tried this and had some strange effects. For one thing, it burns your mouth (I assume this is the alcohol). Secondly, I started out with 20 drops, and felt no effects after 30 minutes. I then took another 20, and nothing. I went through about 4 "cycles" of slowly increasing the dose and got nothing. Finally, out of frustration I gave up.Well later on in the night I felt extremely sick. I ended up throwing up and having abdominal pains for most of the night. Again, I blame this on the alcohol, not the root itself.
