Namaste Foods, Gluten Free Vanilla Cake Mix, 26-Ounce Bags (Pack of 6)

I ordered this thinking it would be a yellow cake mix. It is a heavy cake and is brown. That said, it comes in handy to make streusel coffee cake, upside down cake and other augmented recipes because it is a basic mix and in those recipes the heaviness isn't a problem. Plain cake though was disappointing. So get creative instead.

***Ingredient list has changed with the new packaging, and it's not listed correctly on here. Instead of rice milk powder, it not contains rice milk solids with rice protein and tocopherols. I am allergic to some of the components of "tocopherols," so this was obviously upsetting to me when I received this expensive product.Tocopherols are used as a preservative.

I made banana cupcakes and they were excellent! I also made lemon cupcakes with blueberry frosting and that was spectacular as well. I haven't tried it plain and I really don't want to. It's perfect for getting creative with flavors. Also, I found that it's important to replace the water with buttermilk. Otherwise, it's dry. Most cake mixes are dry, so it's a necessary change to make, regardless.

It has quite a different flavor, not quite what I would call vanilla. But you can add different flavors. Very moist

This cake is amazing especially when made with a lemon glaze.You should know that if you're going to be cooking with a silicone baking pan at high altitude you need to purchase a set of Cake Heating Coresthat is the only way that the center will cook at the same rate as the outside of the cakes without burning the outside. I don’t know what’s going on. I’ve tried making this cake twice now and the cake is goo on the inside no matter how long I cook it for. I don’t know if it’s because I’m using veganegg since I am allergic to egg or what. I’m so upset.

Declious. So happy to be able to make my daughter cakes and cupcakes so easily and that taste so good. The one negative is that it comes with enough for 2 cakes in each bag. I wish they were pre-divided and it wasn't assumed that a person would be making 2-9" round cakes. Very atypical. But so good and easy I will be buying more.
