Initial impressions are very good, love the way this ice maker works. --- See new update.
Just received this ice maker yesterday, let it sit overnight, then turned it on this morning. Here's my first impressions:1) Design is fascinatingly simple and clever. Love the way this thing works.2) Following directions carefully, it seems to dump ice into the bin aprox every 12 to 15 minutes. Took about 2 hours to fill the ice bin. Then stopped when it detected bin was full. Looks like enough ice for 4 to 6 drinks.3) Automatically starts making ice again when it detects ice bin is not full anymore.4) Making ice to fill the ice bin used about 3/4 of the water, so refill water after bin full of ice.5) Noisier then I expected. About same noise level as regular refrigerator.5) Time will tell about dependabilityUpdate: One year laterStill love this ice maker, and am changing from 4 stars to 5 stars. Have been using everyday since last Sept 2019, and still working as good as when new Sept 2020. This ice maker is a keeper. When you first turn it on, select large cubes, then after aprox an hour, change to small cubes. If you don't, the cubes will be too large and frozen together. Pretty sure all the similar ice makers are like that. Anyway, works as advertised after a year of use.

Never worked properly, disappointed
I read other reviews, took my chances and am disappointed in this product. I am hesitant to purchase any counter top ice maker now.I immediately had some concern when the instruction manual had several spelling mistakes as well as odd English language and grammar. However, I gave the product a try.The ice machine would make one batch and then nothing after that initial batch of ice. The ice machine would run (make sounds), go through the process of making ice but no ice was created. I unplugged it and tried it again the next day and day after that, I also went through all the troubleshooting with no success. After a lengthy chat with an Amazon representative I was given a refund.

Portable ice maker.
The ice maker on my old built in subzero refrigerator stopped working but it is too costly to replace the entire unit while the rest of it still functions well. I decided to buy a portable ice maker and hopefully it will give us the same fresh ice when needed. I now have been using the ice maker for couple of weeks. Everything works well. Very easy to set up and operate. Quote convenient to get enough ice for a quick smoothie in the morning or add to my kid’s water bottle before a soccer game. The machine does make some noise when it is working but it doesn’t bother me at all. I actually love to hear the sound when the ice cubes were ready and dumped out to the tray.

Worked great for 4 months and then stopped. Can't find contact info for warranty...
It was a great ice machine for about 4 months. Then the light saying ice full stays on, even though there is no ice in the basket and it won't make more when it thinks it's full. Basically paid $25 a month for 4 months for ice. I didn't expect it to last 20 years, but 2 would have been okay.

No so quiet but useful
I chose this one based on low noise life and the amount of cubes produced. It makes noise but it scares people that come to visit and even me sometimes. It's been 6 months and I am just getting used to it. I always think someone is in the kitchen.Updated @ 9 months since purchase: noise level has increased, sensor doesn't work so ice overflows and gets stuck and I have to turn it off....and then the ice melts. It has become more of a bother because I have to babysit it. I wouldn't recommend this model and I will probably have to buy another soon.My main hang-up is that the ice piles up along the backside of the ice-maker where the ice is released and the sensor thinks it's full when it is barely half full. So I have to constantly scrape the ice off the back side so that it will start to make ice again.Updated @ 9 months: noise level has increased, sensor doesn't work so ice overflows and gets stuck. I wouldn't recommend.Updated @ 1 year: stopped working

Nice ice machine.
Bought this for my wife as she loves ice and the fridge ice could not keep up with her. Great investment. After 6-7 months it stopped working. I contacted Amazon and then the manufacturer. Carina was my representative and after sending a video of the machine not working properly I was sent a new machine (1 year warranty). I left 4 stars because it broke after 6-7 months but am glad they replaced it so easily (the reason for 4 stars vs fewer because it broke).

Highly Recommended
I've had this ice maker for about 2 months now and it's exactly what I expected. It's easy to use and I've had no problems. Our built-in freezer ice cube maker is old and does not keep up with the amount of ice our family uses, so I purchased this ice maker as a second source for ice. Note that this product is not a freezer and does not keep the ice cubes frozen after they've been made and dumped into the basket; however, it is easy to retrieve the ice cubes from the maker and put them into a freezer bag to keep in the freezer. The machine does make noise, but it's a low back-ground type noise. I highly recommend this product for anyone looking for a countertop ice maker.
