I do mixed media embroidery and do basically every mean thing you could ever do to a sewing needle and these hold up well. I have yet to break one despite forcing them through layers of cardboard and acrylic and I've used them for several years. They've taken great the emery sand I use on them and the points have stayed plenty sharp. I have no complaints.

Very sturdy and easy to thread.

Worked fine for going through thick paper. I can't speak for any kind of board though. Kinda wish they were cheaper and/or sold in packs of one or two, since I only needed one.
