Smells Begone Even Eliminated Molybdate Odor! No Nasty Perfume, Either!
Many years ago we started using Smells Begone because it has absolutely no perfume or fragrance. When first applied, it has a very slight aroma reminiscent of the air after a thunderstorm. Within a minute that pleasant smell disappears. Note that the aroma is not from added fragrances. The makers don't put anything in the product.Smells Begone actually eliminates odors. Others, even the big deal Odo Ban & Frebreeze, cover everything with perfume. It does not make sense to "eliminate" an odor by covering it with another. Smells Begone actually destroys the odor. It's very effective on musty, stale smells. So far, Smells Begone has not stained nor discolored any fabric. It does permanently darken bare wood, but not finished wood. The only odor it can't seem to kill is when a plastic container, such as food storage or trash can, absorbs strong food odor. It certainly lessens to smell to a great extent, but I suppose once an odor is absorbed by plastic it's in there for good. This week, it got a torture test: Some Sodium Molybdate was spilled on a bare plywood sub floor. Nothing we've ever tried can get that odor out. It's permanent. But... Two treatments of Smells Begone, a day apart, eliminated 100% of the odor. Even when we re-wetted the wood with water, the odor was gone. It got the smell out of concrete, too.The product is also good for plastic that is out-gassing. It seems to draw the chemicals out of the plastic. Some items need repeated application, but it certainly speeds the process considerably. So, if you like the "new car smell", don't spray Smells Begone. It'll eliminate that "aroma".For fabric, it's great. It'll even get rid of gasoline & diesel smells. One can either spray the spot or add the product to the wash water. Sometimes with fabric, I'll wash, dry and then spray the fabric with quaternary ammonia to kill bacteria. Should any odor remain, Smells Begone will get rid of it.Smells Begone is safe and effective. It's never bothered my skin or respiratory system. In the gallon size, it's well worth the price.

No Fragrance! Yay! Eliminates Odors Quickly & Completely. Economical- Don't Need Much
We've been using SmellsBeGone at home & work for years & years. Why Smells BeGone? No Perfumes! One does not need much of the product to eliminate the odor, so it's economical to use. Gallon size refills are available. At home, a gallon lasts for a few years. The magic potion removes musty odors, pet accident odors, trash container odors & even those car odors that build up over winter and present themselves in spring. For pet accidents, it eliminates the odor so well that another pet doesn't return to the spot to investigate who left the gift.If sprayed onto a surface and the surface is contaminated later with any odor that contains moisture, Smells BeGone comes back alive & returns to work. So the "residual action" of this product is very helpful for things like trash containers. For fabric, haven't encountered any for which this spray causes color problems. I'm sure they exist. On my canvass work jacket, if I go near someone's who is smoking, the jacket picks up the smell until washed. With Smell BeGone, a quick "dusting" with the spray bottle massacres the stinky smoke smell. No more walking around smelling like an ashtray. It is helpful with, believe it or not, groceries. Did you ever notice that many things purchased at a grocery store pick up the perfume that the manufacturer puts into the plastic checkout bags? The fake-flower-stink transfers to one's hands & smells up the pantry closet. A spritz of Smells Begone will destroy the smell lickety-split.There is a slight aroma when the product is first sprayed. To me, it smells like the air after a thunderstorm. This aroma leaves within minutes. The product is pretty much non-toxic. It is so benign that we don't need a MSDS or an SDS sheet at work. The warnings state that it may be "mildly irritating" if ingested or sprayed in the eyes. Bit, I'd still keep it away from kids & not spray your face. I have accidentally gotten it into my eyes and noticed nothing.Summary- After using it for years at home & work, this is my go-to product. Also note that the manufacturer, Punati, makes many specialty cleaning & deodorizing products which do their tasks with equal efficiently.

Great product! Avoid shipping USPS
It’s expensive, but it works. At least for lingering perfume toxins from attending a performance, entering a clothing store, or going out to eat, life, etc. I have chemical sensitivities, so we spray in our house, our car, inside cupboards, in my room, and directly on my clothes before dryer if I can’t get lingering toxic chemical scents out. It is somewhat, but not completely useful for scents on clothing from being near a cigarette smoker. But I’ve had to throw away work clothes from that. If it were that easy, non-smokers would gladly buy smokers’ homes, and thrift shops would sell smokers’ used clothes. Yuck!Bottom line:For fragrance, very usefulFor cigarette smoke, probably useful (but not a cure-all) if you are not horribly reactive to it. Someone like me, is still going to get very ill. But it would help with someone who simply finds the odor offensive. For food odors, honestly, opening the doors was just as useful for me as the SB I sprayed after we cooked fish inside (non-working extractor fan). So, maybe a little. For airborne allergens like animal dander, useful if it’s to get the dander down, out of the air, and onto the ground or furniture where you can wipe up the dander, and toss it into an outside trashcan. For non-toxic smoke odors, like, say, if your husband decides to use the auto clean function on the old, dirty oven that came with your house, and it locks, so you get home to find smoke all over everything. Great (ahem) for that.Last: Sometimes Prime shipping uses USPS. Then they use a smaller box without the extra padding that both buffers and keeps the SB lid on tight. I don’t know how to avoid that. But with USPS, we have had the gallon of SB arrive with the lid loosened, and all the liquid gone. It’s infuriating as we need this regularly.
