It actually works! My dogs are stubborn (All 5 of them) and nothing else has worked. We put this on top of our couch cushions, because they always leave wet pawprints etc. Even though our dogs are 15lbs or under, we needed to use the medium setting (like I said super stubborn dogs). Once that was figured out they stayed far away from the mat lol already 3 days later and we've started turning the mat off randomly...they still stay off of it. I was skeptical at first but this product is definitely worth it.

Our dog responded so well to the Lesotc Pet Training Mat! All we had to do was turn it on. He didn't like the sound and therefore stayed out of the kitchen and off the white carpet. It worked like a charm! Max seems to be under foot in the kitchen, making it difficult to get anything done but without a word of reprimand we just laid out the Pet Training Mat by the kitchen entry and he stays quietly out of the kitchen watching. The mat creates an electronic pulse but really it's more of a vibration that can be adjusted which is convenient. The advantages to using the mat is that we could keep our training positive and never correct negative behavior, Max learned naturally. Additionally, the mat is easy to move anywhere, so we were able to correct multiple behaviors within a day. As pup parents we appreciate the sound the mat makes letting us know it has been triggered so that we can follow-up immediately with redirection.

This seems to work fairly well at its intended purpose. It emits a sound as it provides a small electrical shock. As with anything for my pets, I tried it on myself first. There are three shock levels - 1. “Did I just feel something”, 2. “Yep, I definitely felt something uncomfortable there”, and 3. “Well dammit Jim that’s quite uncomfortable”. My dogs respond well enough to the lowest setting, but I do know some dogs that would need one of the higher two settings.Pro: Overall, it does it’s intended job. It’s easy enough to store when not in use. It uses common (AAA) batteries.Cons: I wish there was an option for sound levels. The sound is always on and it’s a lower volume than what my dogs would need to stay off the couch. There should be 3 sound settings to go with the 3 (or more) shock settings, along with the option of either shock OR sounds.Packaging was fine, but they should probably hire someone who speaks English as a first language to write the labels.

My mischievous kitten loves jumping onto the kitchen counter and explore. She recently started batting dry potpourri around and knocking cups over. This can become a serious problem because my family keep other utensils (like knives) and food that are toxic to cats (such as garlic, lemons, grapes, and avocados) on the counter.I tried many methods to stop her. I clapped loudly and said “no” whenever she jumped onto the counter. I wiped down the island with citrus-based cleaner. I even started hissing at my cat to ward her off. However, I was still unable to stop her...When I heard about the scat mat, I looked it up on Amazon immediately. I was concerned with the electric shock at first since the kitten’s tiny body seems so fragile to me. After reading several reviews claiming that the electricity feels like a mild static shock and is harmless to pets, I decided to give it a shot.The product came with a sheet of instruction and was easy to install. I tested the low (recommended for kittens on the instruction) static pulse myself and could confirm it is indeed not painful. The kitten jumped on it once and was spooked by the pulse. Since then, she has not been wreaking havoc on the counter!

Bought to keep 3 dogs from going through a doorway. Dogs are 7, 10 and 50 pounds. I cranked the mat to the highest setting and it does not deter any of the dogs. The 7 pound dog is short and thick bodied and sets the mat off about 50% of the time she steps on it, but even on the highest setting she stands on it unaffected. The 10 pounder has long skinny legs and rarely sets off the mat when he steps on it. The 50 pound dog sets the mat off easily but will literally stand on the mat while if is going off and is totally unaffected.The only good thing is it has become a visual aid for the dogs because they are sent right back when they walk across the mat so now all 3 know to stay put.

Your browser does not support HTML5 video.  The jury is still out. Apparently it emits some sort of noise even when nothing is on it that drives my Australian Shepherd nuts. And my Labradoodle figured to walk to the side of it or jump over it to get up the stairs. So, I’m definitely going to need to get something bigger to deter her, but I don’t want to make my other dog crazy in the process.Overall, the product was easy to set up. It comes unsnapped easily so I reenforced it with duct tape. Like an idiot, I kept touching it while it was on to move it. It doesn’t hurt. It’s just like that annoying shock that you get when you slide around on carpet in your socks and reach out and touch your friend. My kids kept trying it out on the different levels. They were giggling the whole time so I know it doesn’t hurt, but I know that my pets didn’t want to touch it so I think it would probably work if I could get the right configuration and size.

Don’t waste your money unless you plan to replace it every 6 weeks.The battery life is 4 days max with Energizer batteries. The Matt completely stopped working at about 5 1/2 weeks and the only thing that deterred my dogs was the beeping bc they realized quick that mom hears it and they will be in trouble.

The product is wonderful! My cat is just difficult and our particular scenario is a real challenge. We have a stairway with many access points and the mat initially deterred my cat (I was THRILLED!) until he found a way around it. It's an amazing product if you have the right space for it. The seller has been excellent to work with too-very responsive and understanding!
