Well made and machined, my 9 year old son loves this little replica along with the mini cannon balls. Very nice desktop piece....but if you wanna really have fun get some Triple 7 FFFG powder, pack it, add toilet paper for waddle then light the fuse you purchase and it’s just pure fun. At your own risk...it works like the real deal. Be careful.

First and foremost, for safety reasons you should NOT use the supplied steel ball bearings as ammo as there is a very small chance of steel sparking in contact with another piece of steel, which if it were to happen as you're loading the chamber (i.e. have gunpowder in the bore) it could potentially cause the Cannon to go off in your hand!!That being said, this is a great little cannon and tons of fun to fire, and the only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is the bore diameter. While it is easy to source the 6mm (.243") ball bearings, sourcing any other ammo in that size seems to be quite difficult. Luckily that too is an easy fix, as the bore size is already VERY close to 1/4" it's a simple matter to bore it out with a 1/4" drill bit, just make sure to use a drill press, and some oil to make the cuts nice and smooth. With that done you can now use pretty much any .25 Cal pellets of your choice! (This is a perfectly safe modification as long as it's done carefully, as you're only removing .0035" from the barrel thickness.) And, this mod has the added bonus of also giving a noticably louder, more powerful shot!

My childhood imagination kicks in every time I fire it in the back yard!I was very impressed in all areas. By far one of my favorite amazon purchases in a while! Mini Cannons Rock!!!Only use black powder, Or Black powder substitute. use Triple Seven FFG with paper towel wadding, And it works very well!

I bought it for a gift for a friend who was a heavy artillery operator in the army but after opening the package he thought it was a gag gift and after the attempt to get it to fire i was to embarrassed to say it was not. Very disappointing and more so when he showed me the two he had ordered from Wish for 4 dollars each that where Very well made and fired like a real cannon much better quality than the 30 dollar paper weight I got from here very disappointed

Remembering we are talking about an inexpensive "toy" vs. an expensive scale reproduction, the high quality of this item surprised and pleased me. The casting is far better than I expected, the machining more precise. Having fired real live revolutionary era mortars I can well imagine this firing... though as a former OSHA safety specialist I can't say I ever will. It is a wonderful decor or wargame item.

I purchased this for a team of employees that had differing tastes and backgrounds. It was extremely well received and seen as highly creative. The units themselves are high quality and highly sturdy. They are awesome for desk pieces and one of the employees has taken it home and purchased black powder and a fuse and fired it! I highly recommend from a quality and uniqueness perspective.
