Ostrim Habanero Beef & Elk Snack Stick 1.5 oz - 10 ct(Pack of 2)

Used to buy these often, but long before the recent supply chain and inflation issues kicked in, the price of these kept edging up. They were borderline worth it in the beginning, but at some point I said "naw brocephus, they ain't that good, you can keep 'em for that price".

I've purchased at least 10 boxes of these through Amazon and even more from other sources. The flavor of these sticks has always been awesome. Unfortunately, the texture is very inconsistent. Sometimes, they're very firm and meaty as you'd expect, but probably 1 out of every 4 boxes I've tried end up soft and mushy. I've reached out to the manufacturer, and they've offered replacements but no explanation of any remedy to solve the inconsistencies. If these were all like some I've had, it'd be 5+ stars. The soft, mushy sticks don't even warrant one star and have sometimes found the trash can.

I love these. Low in fat. But they really really really need more Habanero. I can barely tell that these have any heat at all.6-23-2016 - I just took a long road trip and brought a box of these with me. They are as healthily a road snack as you can get out side of eating carrots or something. But I found myself, once in a while when stopping for gas, buying a junky fatty Slim Jim just so I could get something spicy. These things really need to be more spicy.

I've been eating these for several years, but the price keeps going up. Hopefully the price will come back down when the world gets back to normal. I will miss you Beef and Elk Habanero sticks. I will keep my eye on you.

I have consumed OSTRIM now for years and love it. Taste is great. Reason for the 3 stars: only 1 of the 10 beef sticks in the pack was eatable. I bit into one this morning and it had expired. Have 8 left in the package that all appear to be expired. The Sell By Date is 060917. Something is wrong with this batch.Update: I change my review to 5 stars. I contacted Ostrim Customer Service and they replaced the pack with delivery within 48 hours. The rep indicated all that was needed to replace was the sell-by date. Thanks Ostrim! Great Customer Service and great product.

Let me start off by saying I am not a fan of beef jerky, never have been. I purchased this item for the 730 mg of potassium in each serving. I use an app to track my food intake along with vitamins, minerals, exercise, etc. I was severely deficient in potassium. So I was looking for snacks high in potassium. The 14g of protein is a added bonus! But, I actually like the taste! I eat one mid-morning and another mid-afternoon. That gives me nearly 1.5g of the 5g of potassium I try to get everyday.

I used to buy this product frequently when I was more into lifting/nutrition due to its high protein content and low fat and calories. I bought the meat sticks again last week after awhile and the nutrition label is completely different than it was before. It’s fattier, has a higher calorie content, and less protein. My guess is that they added more fatty beef and less lean elk to make it cheaper to produce without lowering the retail price. In addition, they haven’t updated the nutrition labels on Amazon. Still taste great, but not the same quality.
