Men Analogue Eco-Drive Watch

I like Citizen Eco-Drive watches, I like to use them as work watches, they’re a decent size, they’re really well made and very reliable and because they’re solar powered you’ll never have to go out of your way to get a replacement battery. I’ve got nine Citizen Eco drives and they’ve all been great and very reliable but I’ve had the same issue with most of them; the standard canvas straps aren’t great and WILL fall apart after 6-12 months so do yourself a favour and replace it before it fails and potentially damages the watch, I’ve put a grey 22mm NATO Zulu strap on mine for less than a tenner (see pics). I really like this particular model, I have the other colour versions they do, I like the clean face design and particularly like the Arabic numerals, and the day is also displayed in addition to the date which is nice. The watch is a good size, if you have large wrists like myself then a lot of watches can seem ridiculously small but no problem here. The lume is decent. It’s reminiscent of military watches in particular the Pulsar RAF issue watch. I do feel it that Citizen should have fitted a chapter ring to this watch, the case of this watch is quite deep so it could easily take one. The other issue I’ve experienced is that the glass/crystal is soft mineral glass, this is to be expected at this price point but for some reason Citizen seem to use really soft glass for their mineral glass, so they pick up scratches really easily. In summary; a really nice budget watch, really well made and a decent size, just be mindful that the strap is the weak point.

I was looking for a replacement for my last Citizen watch which I wore for 23 years. I really like this one because it is very easy to read the numbers and day/date. I did not want a watch with dials within the face area and winders in weird places, I wanted something simple but looks good and this fits the bill. I am a great fan of Eco Drive watches and my last one kept perfect time. If this one does as well I will be well pleased. My only (small) gripe was the strap it came with which I could only describe as awful. It is very stiff and uncomfortable to wear despite spending some time working it to try and ease it off. I also found that the design of the pin on the buckle made fastening it (and unfastening it) very difficult. However I have now replaced the strap and all is well. Would recommend this watch.

The watch itself is very well made, love it, except the strap doesn’t really fit my wrist. The holes on the strap are either too loose or too tight, and the material is a bit too stiff for me. After replaced by other straps, it’s a really good watch to have.

I initially bought the watch as it was large faced with easy to read numerals at a glance without putting my glasses on. Additionally the eco drive and Citizen pedigree reinforced my thoughts of a good purchase. Over the spring and summer of the following year after long walks with my dogs for an hour or so I noticed I had started to develop a rash on my wrist. I initially put this down to perspiration. Despite my efforts of applying cream on my wrist and keeping the wristband clean it was apparent I had contacted some sort of contact dermatitis. I transfered the watch to the alternate wrist and again the same problem. I love the watch but will endeavour at some point to purchase a strap which matches or flows with the design and does not irritate my skin. I don't think it's the metal in the eyelets but the strap material itself. Again I would like to reiterate this is a great watch but I have had a bad experience with the strap.

I thought that this would be easy to read without my reading glasses. Big dial, big numbers but in fact it is extremely difficult. The hands are only white for half their length and the day/date window stands out so much that it looks like a third hand. So often it looks like one of the hands is pointing at the "3". The watch itself feels well built, it keeps its charge without the need to make a special efforts to place it in the light. The strap can be difficult to do up sometimes because of the alignment with the metal reinforced holes but once it is done up it looks good and is comfortable. For such a large watch it is remarkably light. I would be happy to buy another Citizen of this type but would choose one with a different dial and hands.

I bought this watch because I liked the idea of the canvas strap and a few months in I am still really pleased with it. It's got a very clear and easy face to read the time from and the day and date function is smooth and simple. It is a little hard to pull the button out to the first click point to change the date and it's 50/50 over whether I change the day by mistake and have to scroll through the whole week (in French and English). It's brilliant to get a watch which has such good water resistance and is the Ecodrive for such a good price and its timekeeping is excellent as well - hardly seems to have lost a second in the time I have had it. The only downside is that the leather backing on the strap does get a little whiffy occasionally as my wrist gets hot. I had hoped that the canvas strap would make it washable and did not realise it was only canvas on the top and leather on the bottom.

Saw this in a jet 2.com duty free book and wanted it Sadley they didn't have it on the flight but Amazon did! so I bought it seems quite heavy and the time and dates a bit hard to set but theirs instructions how to use it but at the end of the day it's a really nice watch to wear love it

très belle montre fidèle à la description hormis la largeur du bracelet qui est de 22 mm et non de 20mm comme indiqué sur le site. Ce qui peut sembler déroutant est l'affichage multi-langue du jour (anglais allemand et un peu de français), mais ce n'est pas vraiment gênant. Cette montre semble de qualité et va dans le sens écolo (pas de pile) avec la précision du quartz pour un prix modique. J'ai commandé un bracelet Nato James Bond de 22mm à rayures pour le plaisir... La livraison par uhren4you a été faite plus rapidement que prévu (commandée dimanche, expédiée lundi d'Allemagne et livrée samedi), avec un bon suivi du colis tant du côté Allemand que Français.

I own several Citizen Eco-Drive watches and they have all been of good quality. This latest one is no exception. The fit and finish is excellent. This is a military style field watch which looks solid and well made. On mine, the second hand lines up with all of the numerals and markers. I consider it a sign of poor quality-control when it does not. The day/date is easy to set with the large crown, which is a little too easy to pull out, in my opinion. Still, no deal breaker. Most important to me, the watch is extremely accurate. I have had mine for a month and; so far, it has gained only 7 seconds. As for appearance, the watch is large with a 42mm diameter case, not including the crown. However, I do not believe it looks "out of place" on my rather small 7-inch wrist; and, I find it does wear comfortably. You may wish to note that the actual crystal diameter is 36mm if you intend to buy a crystal protector, which I did. I cannot comment on the strap as I replaced it with a 22mm Nato strap as soon as I got the watch. I would note that, in my opinion, the watch face is not really black but rather a dark charcoal gray, if that is important to you. My only quibble is that while the hands, numerals and markers are luminescent, it is quite faint while still readable. Also, the shipping time is pretty accurate, so be prepared to wait. I ordered my on 12/30/22 and received it 1/27/23. However, it did come well-packaged and without damage. All in all, and at a price point of around $100, I consider this watch to be a very good buy; and therefore, I would recommend it. Hope you find this helpful......
