Add This Sweet Book to Your Baby’s Library!
Such a delightful book! This was always a favorite of one of my daughters so when we were invited to a baby shower and asked to help build the baby’s library we chose this one!

A perfect blend of poems, pictures, and lullabies.
When one sings lullabies to musical babes and toddlers, the music may stimulate and awaken them rather than lulling them to sleep. This book is the ideal compromise as it alternates between softly-spoken words and favorite lullabies! And with new words written for traditional melodies, one exposes little ones to culture while quietly encouraging creativity! If I use too many exclamation points, it’s because I can’t recommend this treasure highly enough— It’s been my favorite “welcome baby” book for decades!!! And it works for newborns up to kindergarten.😀🎼🎶❤️

Our favorite book
I found a copy of this book while I was pregnant and just picked it up without really looking at it. What wonderful luck as this has been one of our absolute favorites (which says a lot, considering that we easily have over 200 children's books)! We've even had to replace it because we literally wore it out!I've read this book to my daughter literally since the day she was born. I'm the "singer" in our family and this book is perfect, with its combination of prose and song. It's one of our favorite bonding activities. Now, at age two and a half, my daughter "reads" the book herself, singing the little songs. In response to others who say that this book perpetuates the concept that only mothers love their children, I have to disagree. This book simply focuses on a mother's love. The song about the ducks specifically mentions that Daddy is near, protecting the family. In our family, we have an equal number of books that focus on a father's love as those that focus on a mother's love. This book happens to be one of the books that my daughter asks for on the nights I read her a bedtime story; on the nights that my husband is the storyteller, she tends to choose one of the daddy books. Don't fault the book for having a focus; instead, build a balanced library for your children. We are particularly fond of "Guess How Much I Love You" to show a father's love.If you enjoy singing to your child and want an excellent addition to your bedtime ritual, get this book. You won't regret it.

Fun songs to sing to kids
This was one of our favorite books to read to our kids and we consistently give it for baby showers. The songs are easy to sing, all calming and have tunes that most people know already.

Best Baby Book Ever
This is my 25 yr old son's favorite book from childhood. He still has it. When he was diagnosed w a disease at 12 that would make the rest of his life a challenge, he went and got this book and climbed into my lap for one more go. Warning: singing is involved, but it is the best children's book, and we had a bazillion. I give a lot away as baby gifts.

Adorable! (but how do you sing Sleep, Baby, Sleep on the bear pages??)
Absolutely love this book. This is our second copy because the first one got so well loved. I love how familiar melodies are paired with unique text. However, "Sleep Baby Sleep" that goes with the bear cub pages has never been a familiar song to me so I just made up my own song through the years. With the purchase of this copy of the book, I decided to go learn the real song, which I did, but I cannot figure out any possible way to fit with words on the page with the melody of "Sleep Baby Sleep." Does anyone have this figured out??All the other songs are easy and fit naturally.Love to read this adorable book to my little guy at night.Perfect baby shower gift. Perfect gift for yourself :)

Sweet song book
I loved this book with my kids and just got it for a friends’ baby showers. It has love poems from animal parents to their babies that can be sung to the tune of traditional lullabies (twinkle twinkle, etc.).

Stories and lullabies
Sweet bedtime story with beautiful illustrations of animal parents and babies: a bunny, a bear cub, a kitten, a duckling, and a puppy. Best of all, the animal babies have their own sleepy-time songs, with clever, original lyrics set to the tunes of popular lullabies so that parents can sing their own babies to sleep. Singing to your baby is so much nicer -- as well as better for bonding, and for a baby's sense of well-being and artistic development -- than playing recorded music for him or her. This little book is a treasure.
