A good one to start your collection
My four-month-old son just loves Baby Beethoven and Baby Mozart. Their very similiar in format -- lovely music, colorful toys, objects spinning, etc. So if you're looking for a couple Baby Einstein films to start your collection for your young infant, Baby Beethoven would be perfect. My son loves it -- he smiles and giggles when he knows it's coming on, he laughes and "talks" to the puppets, and wiggles his legs all around. I think I even saw his swaying or dancing one time.So if your baby is very young (say, under 8 months or so?), I recommend sticking to this type of film -- where your child loves the colors, movements, shapes, etc. But be careful moving on to other Baby Einstein films. My four-month-old hated Baby Neptune, since it had more real life footage -- kids playing in a puddle, a whale crashing into the sea, etc. Not the most exciting for a young infant. I think it just has to do with colors and silliness -- my son even loves the VeggieTales DVDs -- and not an interest in seeing actual people.

Great video!
My son has the entire Baby Einstein collection and LOVES them. I highly recommend purchasing "Baby Mozart" and "Baby Beethoven" first. He started watching these at four months. Now, he is two and enjoys the more advanced ones much better, but this one was a life saver the first year. As far as the reviewer who said do yourself a favor and buy a camcorder . . . sure, these videos are simplistic and maybe that person could have made a better DVD in their basement, but they didn't, and the maker of Baby Einstein is a millionaire. They are not "horrible, horrible" videos. Many infants and young children LOVE them, and other "fancier" videos will bore them for the most part. My son was mesmerized, and that is all that counts! Socks for puppets and all! It is worth your money to try one, although I would try "Baby Mozart" first.

Amazing
My daughter has been fascinated with this DVD since she was 4 months old. She is almost 7 months old, and she still loves it just as much. We put it on in the evening as a "wind down" activity for her. She Loves this video so much she gets upset if anyone bothers her in any way. It is so precious to watch her lean forward at stare at the screen each and every time. She also loves "Baby Newton" and "Baby Mozart"....but Baby Beethoven is, by far, her favorite. I would have to HIGHLY recommend this video!!

Astounding!!!!!!!!
Since receiving this product, my baby girl has been mezmerized by the DVD from the first time she watched it at 4 months. As a mom, I love the music (it doesn't get better than Beethoven!), the used of shapes, colors, and characters in the Baby Einstein series, as well as the fact that it provides a great opportunity for my baby and I to interact TOGETHER along with the DVD talking about what we see and learning new things each time we watch it. It's fascinating to watch, even for me as an adult! I'm so very glad we got it!!!

Simplistic, good for entertaining child
I am not an advocate of parking a child of any age in front of the television. However, there are just those times where nothing else is working and you have to get a shower, cook dinner, take a breather...you know the drill if you are a parent. This dvd is good for that purpose. It has lots of motion, colors and contrasts that attract the attention of an infant+. My 4 month old enjoys watching it, and already has his favorite portions. However, he bores quickly and I think has already figured out the sequence. The dvd is a series of simplistic puppets, colors, moving objects and pictures of children/babies put to classical music. It is designed to entertain a child, not educate them. Some of the review were disappointed in the lack of "educational" experience. No, this is not going to prepare your child to read at age 6 mos. It is going to encourage them to be a baby and be entranced by color and motion.

Great video
I purchased this for my daughter after a friend lent me the Baby Einstein Baby Neptune DVD. She was 9 months old at the time (now one year) and still loves it. While I am not a proponent of using the television as a baby sitter, however this DVD does allow me to get things done while in the same room as her. I don't find the music annoying at all, in fact I actually enjoy it. I also like the fact it exposes her to classical music while also visually stimulating her.

A must for mums
You know what you say - "my baby will never watch telly" Well this will change your mind - great for helping your child be distracted from a crying fit (esp around tea time) calming them down and generally entertaining them for 25-30 mins while you re group. Also contains lots of "educational toys that can inspire you for future amazon sprees
