Fantasic bargain for the money. Works great!
I bought this device to serve as a wireless bridge for my desktop PC and laser printer in a back room away from my router. I chose it because it had 4 Ethernet ports on the back and because it was reasonably priced (That means "cheap", in case you were wondering!).But what you get for your money is fantastic! It works very well, and was not terribly difficult to setup. As long as you've got a little bit of experience with basic home networking you shouldn't have any problems. The included instructions are pretty clear anyway. Just remember that once you enable it as a "bridge", it inherits the settings from your network and you'll lose connection at the default address. This is normal, though. Also, the device works as a wireless range extender. I have a poor signal area in the back of my house where my master bedroom is. So, before I set it up as a bridge I tried it out in range extender mode back there. It was so easy to setup and worked so well to solve the signal strength problem back there that I'm going to be purchasing another one of these units for that purpose! Plus, this is the default mode and was super easy to setup. One minor issue I had was that I didn't seem to be able to get it to connect simply by using WPS, and in looking at other reviews I don't appear to be the only one with this problem. But, that's not the end of the world, and the manual setup was pretty easy as I mentioned. I wouldn't let that stop me from buying it.If I can help in any way, please let me know!

Nice power..
We are giving this repeater only 3 stars mostly due to the 2dbi antennas. The only downside we found with this repeater is the seemingly limited ability to pickup a signal. Once you have the signal it's a fantastic unit. However, even if all you can get is an orange light the signal will drop repeatably. A stinger antenna seems to fix this issue but.... for the money I should not have to put more cash into it for better antennas. That said, with better reception be that antennas or whatever it would definitely get a 5+ rating. Once you put it close enough to the router to get it connected the this is a great unit.

EnGenius...Not a bad product...and does what I need it to do.
9-17-2014 As some have stated in other reviews, the setup was not exactly smooth. The WPA setup function did not work with my AT&T router, compared to a NetGear N300 device I have also. However, once I connected the device to my laptop via the cable, and browsed to the setup webpage it was good from there. I was able to select an alternate SSID, and was up and running in no time. This is to replace a dead Linksys bridge device that served me well for a few years. In all so far so good...but I just got the device and who knows how well it will perform in six months, a year? I will let you know if anything changes.

No support. Mediocre product.
I received the product from Amazon in a sealed manufacturer's carton. The CD containing the instructions was missing. I contacted Engenius support twice, asking for them to mail me the missing CD. Both times Ben of "EnGenius Customer Support" declined to provide the instruction CD.This router takes exceptionally long to boot up and connect. Sometimes is fails to connect. With an IP camera, sometimes it connects at adequate speeds. Other times, the connection is slow and erratic even though none of the equipment has been moved. Reconnecting five minutes apart gives widely differing results. The nearest house is 1000 feet away, so it's not co-channel indifference. I mean interference, indifference was the customer service. The notebook indicates 5/5 signal strength in the same location, so with this product being a "range extender", it should not have had issues connecting at twenty foot distance through wooden floors to the router.Inside, the router does not appear to support DD-WRT, Tomato etc, as there is no pin header for programming third party software.

I am going to buy another one.
My router is in the basement and my office is on the second floor so obviously, I had some network lag. I thought I would try this just to see if it would work. First I did not bother with the quick setup I used the one that came on the CD. The main reason is lazy as I did not want to walk two flights to the router. That being said the setup was almost instant. My desktop connected right away and I am getting the full 75mbps that my router gets on the desktop. I was using a powerline before and was only getting around 45mbps with powerline. My laptop is now getting 40 via the wireless network but I think that has more to do with all the crap my company puts on the laptops.

Not sure if it works yet with FIOS... Update - WORKS
I have an M14 FIOS setup and well, I can't get the repeater, or extender to connect with the syncing WPA buttons.. I just want to have a larger range for my wifi throughout the house and when I go through the setup instructions, it tells me to enter http://192.168.0.1/, but nothing happens. It says the site cannot be found. My Verizon IP is http://192.168.1.1/ and that works just fine.. please help before I make a return.UPDATE: Turns out, my LAN connection wasn't working to do this setup. I got another computer and did the setup easily. This DOES WORK WITH FIOS.
