UBT-1 installed on TX-NR414
Works terrific. I had to update the firmware on my ONYKO TX-NR414 first (because I bought it when it first came out early 2012 and there have been 3 or so firmware upgrades since - one of them to recognize the UBT-1 device.) (Follow the update firmware procedure in the on-line user manual for the TX-NR414. Make sure you copy all files/folders from the ZIP file onto an empty USB stick (do not copy the zip file). When update says 'completed' - use the power off button on the receiver, and make sure you had all the files on the memory stick. Update took < 10 minutes.)You'll know it's working when you pair because TX-NR414 window will recognizee the UBT-1 and display "UBT-1" in window.I'm able to play music files, Pandora, radio stations, that are on my iphone-4. Played for an hour and never lost connection. Sounds great.I don't have the TX-NR414 on my home network.I have an iphone-5 that I haven't tried, and have the ipone-4 set up to just use wirelessly (since the data contract was moved from the 4 to the 5). So - I'm using the iphone-4 as though its an ipod. And using the iphone-4 costs me nothing with carrier since I just use it wirelessly and without phone - no 3/4G network connection needed!)

Receiver stops recognizing UBT-1 as a bluetooth dongle
At first this worked great. I plugged it in, my phone recognized it and the range was great (using the front USB). I could connect from one floor up and stream music seamlessly. The only issue I had was that any time I turned my phone on to check email/text, it would steal control of my receiver by moving the input to USB from my TV that I was watching. To get around this, I would have to unplug the USB dongle every time I wasn't using it. This wasn't too bad of an issue until I updated the firmware on my Onkyo TX-NR525. I think something with that firmware update corrupted how the drivers are recognized. Ever since the update, when I unplug the dongle, the receiver fails to recognize it when I plug it back in. The only way to restore it to a working state is to clear the whole receiver (hold down "TV/SAT" and hit the Power button). The problem with this is it resets the speaker calibration for my room. To make matters worse, I've called Onkyo's 24x7 support line 4 times and am yet to get through or get a callback from them. Pretty disappointed. I love the stereo receiver and the sound is amazing through my speaker system, but the compatibility/reliability of this accessory is terrible.

No Luck with HT-S9400THX
I was very excited about this product simply for the fact that I could stream music from my cell phone through my home theater system. I was not 100% sure that my receiver would work (HT-R990) being that I purchased the HT-S9400THX HTIB and thought that I might get lucky. The product description says it will work with all 2012 network receivers, and technically mine was released in late 2011. I was able to successfully pair my cell phone to the BT adapter but to my dismay I was getting no audio out of my speakers. I stream from my cell phone into my car stereo using bluetooth, so I am sure all the settings were correct.I am sure this is a great product for those who have a compatible receiver. I had to send mine back since I could not get it to work with my receiver.

Works like it should but.........
I bought the bluetooth adapter for the same reason anyone else would; to stream music from Google Play or iTunes. This device certainly allows that. However, you would have to go to your phone settings and disable all alerts. For instance, do you have a foghorn, whistle or bells ringing alert set up for incoming text messages, emails, FB notifications? Each of these sounds will play through the Onkyo, disrupting the song. The song will fade out, your alert notification plays out, then the song fades back in. That is annoying as hell. Here's another one: Let's say you stop listening to music. You switch back over to Cable or Blu-Ray, but you've left the USB adapter plugged in (there is, after all, a port on the back of the receiver to connect it to, as well as one on the front). When an alert drums up on the phone, the Onkyo will automatically switch back to the Bluetooth Device mode, taking you away from your movie or show. Ridiculous. As a fix, I have moved my USB Bluetooth Adapter to the front of the receiver, with the understanding that I must unplug it after each use. Stack that up against Apple TV, or something similar, and this adapter is plain junk. I dont have Apple TV, nor do I ever plan to purchase any product named after a fruit. But, in this case, I would have to admit that users of the entirely over-priced Fruit Tech will enjoy their product much more than the average Android system user can with this Bluetooth Adapter.
