The City of Ember: The Graphic Novel

My daughters (6 and 8) enjoyed reading this with me. They were excited to read it and then watch the movie.Anyway, this is one of the best novel to graphic novel translations that I have come across. It rids itself of anything unneeded to the arc of the characters. So, what you get is a clear story. Instead of a graphic novel that is overly confusing and filled with unneeded text. Which I have seen in other novel to graphic novel translations. Wonderful book!

I bought the hard cover, and it's really nice! I've been getting graphic novels for my grandson who had very little interest in reading. Now he looks forward to his next book. I would definitely recommend this book

The story is great, and the illustrations are lovely, but the binding of the book started falling apart the first time I read it. I teach a reading class and knew my students would love this book, but it is not going to be able to handle multiple reads.

I'm a middle school librarian and the kids love to check-out graphic novels as a break from reading regular books. This particular graphic novel is from a very popular regular first book in a regular series and therefore is also considered to be a "gateway book" which hopefully will interest a struggling reader to read the rest of the books in the regular series.

Bought this to put in my classroom library, but my son found it and will not put it down. Has read it a few times already. It does not leave much out from the actual novel.

This moved fast but I felt it was a fun complete telling for this story. I would recommend this to anyone interested.

Got this for one of my reluctant reader students. I think she will love it!!

So, my 11 year old daughter and I washed the movie (I had watched it before; not a fan), and she kind of liked it. I am a big fan of the books. I felt the movie did not do the book justice. So, I bought this book for my daughter. Although it does have a few minor holes in it (i.e., missing the garden scene), it is truer than the movie. My daughter loved it and it was a quick read.

My 11 year old really enjoyed this book he finished it one day! This is up his alley he read the entire maze runner series, goosebumps and is starting Harry Potter.

My "I hate reading" kid ate this up. I hope they transfer the other novels to graphic format. Its a great way to get kids to read.
