Book came well packaged and on time. The information is sound as are the tips on surviving with little more than your wits and the kindness of strangers.

If you're on the road i.e. a modern day Hobo, this book might just save you life. Lots of information about life on the road.

This book was very informative. Covered things you don't really think about. Gave great resources. Actually used one to get a job in my hometown. Definitely impressed.

New Book -hard to find

This is a very useful handbook if you're going to be anywhere on the spectrum of hoboing, from basic hiking/camping advice - to the hardcore of what type of roadkill is edible and what isn't. It was a fun escape into the world of hoboism from the mundane computer and cubicle world.

This is awful and a great waste of my money. I filled through the very slickly produced "handbook" to find it to be one of those Idiots Guides to Hoboing. It seemed that the research for tis book was conducted by watching YouTube videos. Nowhere in this author's bio does it ever discuss hopping a train, and it is clear that he has no firsthand knowledge of railroad culture. I can see a bunch of guys in suits sitting at a boardroom table pitching ideas for this book because those crazy kids will eat it up and they can rake in the profits!Pass on this if you truly want any knowledge on railroad culture or hobo/tramp living.

The Hobo Handbook: A Field Guide to Living by Josh Mack is an excellent read on this subject and informative of hobo life.

It's pretty good but it lacks a bit of explications on loads of stuff like hitchhiking (they're just 3 lines paragraphs) , but other than that, this book is perfect to understand the basics.
