Morning Bird Calcium Plus Liquid Supplement for Birds - Liquid Calcium Formula with Magnesium and Vitamin D3 Calcium Supplement for All Birds – 4 Fl Oz

Excellent product, and keeps my lovebirds healthy! My two peach faced lovebirds are now 9 years old, and have always been healthy. I feed them a quality seed mix, fruits and veggies as treats, and a powdered egg/honey nutritional supplement (mixed in their seeds). But about eight months ago, my male lovebird started having occasional seizures and was losing feathers around his face. I was worried about him when he had two seizures in one week- he would fall to the bottom of his cage and his wings would flap uncontrollably for about 30 seconds-then, he would be fine. I went to the bird store, and was recommended to add some of this liquid calcium to the water (1/2 teaspoon per small water dish--amount would depend on how large the dish is). I was told seizures are fairly common in the parrot family when there is a calcium deficiency-which even a good diet may not provide all necessary calcium. I bought a smaller bottle from the store and monitored seizures- he had one later in the week, but sure enough, that was the last seizure he has had in over seven months! I absolutely credit that to this liquid calcium supplement. I add it to their water every day, and my bird has not only been seizure free, but seems to be healthier and more energetic as well. I now order the larger bottle from Amazon due to ease of delivery. I highly recommend liquid calcium supplement for all bird owners-a balanced diet is critical for pet birds, and seed mixes and even fruits and veggies might not provide all the nutrients and calcium your bird needs. I realized how important a calcium-rich diet is for my birds- and how difficult it is to supplement with food alone. Thankfully, now I have liquid calcium to give them. I truly believe it's saved/prolonged his life.

A much needed calcium supplement for birds

Just a drop on my finches beak and the hen hen was back flying in about 12 hours.

I always begin adding this to the water about one month prior to the start of the breeding season for my lineolated parakeets and continue with it throughout the season. Knock on wood I've never had a hen become egg bound since beginning using this product.

It's a great product but the bottle was leaky at the seem. A lot of it went to waste from the leaky bottle but I was in an emergency situation with my parrot so, I ended up using it anyhow. It was probably a faulty bottle and not the fault of the seller but, I would've preferred a non leaky bottle so I could use up all of it. I will be buying another bottle or two but I'll be probably buy from somewhere else.

My birds need a lot of calcium and I give them cuttlebones, but, my african grey needs more. So I put this in his water. I have purchased this once before and will continue to purchase it.

My conure stopped eating her Harrison Nuggets and I couldn’t figure out why until I smelled her food bowl. P….U! I then smelled her bag of nuggets and the nuggets s smelled fine. So I opened up the liquid calcium bottle and smelled it and that was where the bad odor was coming from. I stopped giving my conure this liquid calcium and had to revert to using powdered calcium. It took awhile for my conure to trust me again afterwards and to eat her nuggets once more. It’s unfortunate that this product smelled and tasted so bad because it would have been easier to put in my bird’s nuggets than powder. I now use a little water atomizer bottle and spray the food bowl 4 or 5 times to dampen the nuggets and after shaking the powder form adheres to the nuggets and my conure now gets her calcium, vitamin D3 and magnesium. I won’t buy this liquid calcium again. I’m throwing it away, in fact.
