Great product. Cools my apartment in a few minutes.
Setting it up is the hardest part but fortunately there's very little to set up. Just connect the unit to your window and you're good to go. The manual isn't that helpful, but the pictures make it fairly intuitive if you've ever had or seen a portable A/C. You just need to make sure the hose that vents the hot air doesn't come loose from either the window fitting or the unit itself. You don't really need to buy additional insulation to stick to your window, but if you decide to use the spongy insulator that they provide, I recommend that you stick it to the window slider and NOT your actual window frame or you'll be left with a lot of residue if you ever try to take it off.Once you set it up, it does its job really well. All of the functions are easy to understand and you can usually just leave it on Automatic. Cools the joint living room/kitchen of my apartment (about 500 sq. ft) within a few minutes. There's a medium amount of noise but you get used to it after a while. Additionally, there's also a handy timer function that can turn itself off after X hours, which is always useful at night. Haven't needed any of the other features (e.g. child lock) but I would recommend this to anyone who needs a portable A/C.

My thorough review. Everything you need to know.
So, I am not new to portable a/c's. This will actually be my third one (previously had a DeLonghi and an Amcor, which both died on me). I just bought this one to replace the DeLonghi after its compressor died and it became a giant 60 lb deadweight in my room.Note: I live in Southern California. We get very hot summers, but generally speaking not as humid as some places, so my experiences with the product might be different.First impressions: This a/c looks pretty flashy compared to the other two I had. The display/control buttons are nice, and it has a clean, and sleek look. It is black/white in color, and the display lights on top are blue. This a/c has the ability to cool, heat, and dehumidify, as well as an auto mode which will do what it needs to do depending on what temperature you set on the A/C.It's smaller than most portable A/C's of its cooling capacity. I included a picture for size comparison.Setting up:Setting up is pretty straightforward, especially if you have used portable a/c's in the past. You will obviously need access to a window (a sliding window, one that slides up or down or side to side) for exhausting hot air. All the parts necessary to set up the exhaust come included with the A/C.It also comes with a drain hose, that is pretty long (maybe 6 feet at least). However, it comes with only one hose and the a/c has two drains. The top drain is for when you run the a/c in dehumidifier mode, while the bottom is for general A/C use. I have not yet had to drain it, but I did notice there was some water coming out the bottom drain when I connected the hose to test.Pros:- This product is actually quiet for a portable a/c. It is one of the few that I believe actually are being truthful when they say that they run under 56dB. My DeLonghi advertised it ran under 52 dB, but in reality it probably ran closer to 65, if not more. Obviously, this does not mean it is noiseless. It is louder than an air purifier, but slightly quieter than the average window unit.- The fan slots auto close when you turn the A/C off, so no dust will get in there.- This a/c can function as a fan! The fan slots can be set to oscillate left/right, top/down, or both. The air flow is pretty strong to the point where I was thinking of buying a fan, but now will probably not.- The cooling power of this unit is pretty good. I would not say it's 14,000 BTU good...probably more like 8,000 BTU for a window unit. Portable a/c's always exaggerate their cooling power.- This unit is fairly energy efficient for the air current/cooling power it generates. 1250 W.- This is minor, but the temperature reading is in F. I noticed some reviews say Celsius, this isn't the case with the unit I purchased.- Smaller than the other two portable A/C's that I owned, both in terms of weight and size, making it a lot more maneuverable.Cons- Remote control has to be pointed directly at the A/C to change settings.- No settings display on the remote control to indicate what is currently set, so you either have to remember or just go to the A/C.- The mode settings on the A/C (heating, cooling, dehumidifiying, etc) don't go in order when you are changing the mode using the button on the A/C, and same for the remote control. So even though it might be listed in the order 'heating, cooling, etc,' when you press the button, it might go, 'auto, dehumdify, cooling.' Kind of becomes a problem because the remote control doesn't tell you what setting it's currently at. So it takes a few cycling through the modes and waiting to figure out what you set it to if using the remote.- Not 14,000 BTU cooling power. Like most portable A/C's, this is exaggerated. It is closer to 8,000 BTU.- Not as self-evaporating in terms of water/drainage as previous portable A/C's that I own.

Remote and touch screen stop functioning just outside of the product support window...
So I purchased this unit back in May, and it seemed like a great little AC unit, cooled my office space effectively and was relatively quiet when compared to a window shaker. It operated for right about 3 months without issue, then the remote stopped working entirely...I thought to myself "No big deal lazy! Just use the touch controls" which was fine...until those stopped working properly as well. Using the touch screen now is like playing slots...you never know what each press will do. 1 thing is for sure, none of your presses will do what you intend. Unfortunately I'm outside the 3month support window so I guess I'm stuck with a 500 dollar piece of garbage. DO NOT BUY!

Loud compressor
The compressor makes a loud thud when it kicks off in cooling/refrigeration mode. It takes a long time to cool the room down and the air coming out never really feels very cold. Yet when you put it in dehumidification mode, the air coming out is very cold. What sense does that make? In cooling mode there is never any water in the tray. There is no good way to run the drain hose from the lower tray and drain it into a container withou raising up the whole unit and setting it on a stand of some kind. Otherwise the hose is going uphill. The owners booklet is pathetic - a lot of broken and incorrectly applied English.
