I liked the width of this wick, and it fit in easily with the tape method that you can see on YouTube. You really need to measure the opening of the wick holder to decide which diameter to purchase. Some people complained that it was not round, but flat, but it burns well with no issues. Just follow the directions, and trim the wick straight across with a flat razor after threading. Don’t leave too much wick, or it may produce soot, and wet the entire wick with lamp oil before lighting, otherwise you burn the wick instead of the oil. I also like that I can cut the wick to a longer length since it is one continuous piece. Others that I’ve had have been pre cut, so there is a lot of waste.

I was experiencing difficulty locating a supplier able to provide properly sized wicks for a set of oil lamps originally purchased in Germany. Firefly responded to my needs by providing the correct replacement wicks, as we'll as followed-up with "how-to" instructions regarding a rather tedious process threading the wicks into the long glass tube, wick holder, which my lamps utilize. Most worthy of mention is that Firefly invested their time to help with a VERY small order (just a few dollars). So, not only was the company responsible and stood behind their product, but it seems apparent they value their reputation of providing services to customers that go well beyond what most others offer. They deserve real commendation.

Pricey for string. My candles seem to be burning up the top of the wick each time (requiring me to pull out more every burn) - not sure if there’s an issue with the string, my paragon, or the candles.

The Firefly wick was easy to thread into our church candles. I liked the ability to cut the length needed rather than to use pre-cut strips (from another vendor) which can be wasteful. Firefly's price is also much better! We just started using the wick so I can't comment on how long it will last. Even if the wick proves not to last as long as other brands, the very reasonable price will make up for it.

Not accurate size. No filling in the middle. So they stretch and more for like a Chinese finger trap and if you’re trying to use them in an oil lamp with a crank that raises and lowers the wick it won’t be able to achieve any traction. So technically in that case, it is smaller than what is described. If you’re using some floating candle thing or being able to raise and lower with a gear is not necessary. You’ll probably be fine.
