IMOTECHOM 8-Pieces HSS Wood Turning Tools Lathe Chisel Set with Walnut Handle, Wooden Storage Case

I am new to wood turning and I wanted to have good tools to use with my lathe. I am really impressed with these tools and the wooden box they come in. The handles on the tools are really nice and the cutting edges are super sharp. There are lots of cheap sets in the marketplace and by reading Amazon reviews of them, I concluded they are just a waste of money. These, on the other hand, are beautiful tools and I am really happy with them. My husband, who has had experience with Woodturning in the past was really impressed!

The first set I got of these looked very much used and I had to exchange for a new one, which was a pain. The replacements I got looked better. They seem like OK starting tools for a beginner getting into turning. I am new to turning different stuff besides pens, so I thought this would be a good set to start with. I would say its good for a beginner, but it you really want a nice set, spend the money on a professional set of tools and don't deal with this company.

Very nice set of tools, longer length handles and steel make for a very easy to use chisel set.

When I received these I assumed they were brand new but some of them had some sort of build up on the cutting edges. I assumed this was from the factory and didn't worry about it, then I went to use them and they were dull right out of the box. My first set was Harbor Freight lathe tools and they were sharper out of the box, even when I hand sharpened them and completely ruined the cutting edges they were still sharper than these tools were. I am very disappointed because I thought they would be of higher quality and would make using my lathe even more fun. I should have saved my money and bought a name brand instead.

This chisel set worked great. I used it for making wooden bowls. They stayed sharp and worked beautifully.
