Feb 2023 - 1000 Lumen even if box says 775
Wanted to clarify since my box is marked 775 lumens, and did not come with the 1k lumen sticker. I did send the serial number over to Streamlight and they confirmed it is 1K. So if you're in doubt, email Streamlight, they'll get back to you shortly. The light itself is bright. I have the TLR1-s, TLR1-HL, and this one. The regular S is fine for indoors, but can lack if aiming further outside. The HL is def a good all-around weapon light, IMO. The lens is just less bulky than the HPL, and I think it throws just as good of a beam. I think the HPL IS a little more concentrated in the middle, while still providing good overall wide coverage, so it definitely has its merits, but the lens, being larger, just seems slightly less durable (I'm guessing) than the HL, which I think is a great light, smaller lens profile, etc. So on my my shorter AR, I have the HL -- slightly longer, I have the HPL. You won't regret it, just get it. I have them mounted to the 6 o'clock positions on the pic rail, can easily use my index finger to manipulate the toggle - I didn't want wires everywhere.

Throws the Balance Off
Very large. Does its job, but throws its host's balance off in a way i did not anticipate.

Actually as bright as claimed.
Unfortunately, I had to order three lights to finally get one that was actually as bright as claimed by the manufacturer. The two other brands that I received were both supposed to be 1000 lumens and work out to 300 yards. I was looking for something I could use to shoot hogs at out to at least 100 yards. Truth is after getting the other two and checking at night on my rifle there was no way I could see well enough to shoot at 100 yards. These were lights in the same price range by well-known manufacturers. I am using a $1,500 scope with an illuminated reticle on lower magnification so I thought this would be easy but that was not the case. It seems they can just pull some number out of where ever and slap it on the package. The Streamlight TLR-1 HPL is rated at 775 lumens and 48,000 candela and this thing is insanely bright. It has a decent amount of spill with a super bright center hot spot that is very intense. I have tried it at home in town and 100 yards is a breeze. I believe once I get a chance to use it in the field it will work out to about 200 yards. The build quality is the usual high quality expected from Streamlight. The only thing I would like to see change is being able to use rechargeable CR123 batteries. Streamlight says not to use them in this unit. I found out the hard way on another light that if it's not designed for the rechargeables it will instantly fry the LED so I would recommend not trying it yourself. Overall I would highly recommend this unit for anyone wanting a super bright well made reasonably priced weapon light. (Just a note read the description completely because unlike the picture it is only the light and does not include the rifle kit.)

These are 1,000 lumen lights.
Some reviewers have commented that the box the flashlight comes in has a 1,000 lumen sticker placed over the original 775 lumen label, as did mine. In reviewing older Streamlight catalogs, I found this light was advertised as producing 775 lumens in 2019 and prior years, while 2020 and later catalogs show 1,000 lumens. I compared the beam of this light with that of another 1,000 lumen light and can say it is in fact a 1,000 lumen light. Streamlight probably had a large inventory of boxes printed with 775 lumens, and rather than trash the boxes just placed the 1,000 lumen sticker on the new production brighter lights.

Best Tactical Light on the Market?
I want to give my Winchester 1300 Defender a Tactical Weapon look. I ordered from various vendors through Amazon.com and ATI the following: (1) Winchester Talon Tactical Shotgun Ultimate Stock System from ATI, (2)Advanced Technology International Winchester Heat Shield, (3) BARSKA Multi-Reticle Electro Quick Acquisition Shooting Sight (3) B-Square W-Inchter/USRAC 1300 Shotgun Saddle Style Mount, (4) Streamlight 69215 TLR-1s High Powered STD Rail Mounted Strobing Tactical Light with Rail Locating Keys, (5) Barska GLX 5mW Green Laser. The second item delivered was the Streamlight 69215 TLR-1s. Overall the item looks great! The finish is superb and it creates an authoritative look to the Defender. I feel any firearm intended for home defense should have a strong and powerful light for obvious reasons. The inclusion of a strobe function is indeed a bonus, but all is not well because of the strobe. It's operation is the only reason this item did not score 5 stars. A three move turn of the on/off switch is required to "prime" then initiate the strobe function. This is undesirable in a tactical situation where the instant application of the disorienting flash of the strobe-light is required. A better solution would be the inclusion of a remote button to switch from light to strobe. The fixed-beam light is fantastic! It's super bright and projects a solid white light circle surrounded by a dimmer halo. Turn on the light by a different action of the same switch that operates the strobe. Still a remote button would be faster.Five stars for materials, finish and flashlight function. I wish I could give one and a half for the strobe. Regrettably, overall 3 stars.

Open package item
Was a previously opened one, with batteries already installed but was priced for $120 then went back up immediately after I bought it. Could have returned it but it was in perfect condition. Pros: Very bright, LONG RANGE light. Made in america, durable. Great quality, very compact.Cons: No remote switch included and they are expensive, need a new battery door for one to work.A little difficult to find a good spot for it because of the bell end and no remote switch.Side by side CR123 means you cant use 18650 batteries
