Fusion MS-IP600G, iPOD Dock/AUX/AM/FM/ Marine Stereo Receiver

I love this unit! It replaced a Pioneer CD unit and the sound quality that I get out of this box is immensely greater that what I got from my Pioneer deck using the same speakers. To me, it was easy to install - the only thing was that it came pre-wired with a harness, but I had nothing to plug the harness into - I'm not really sure if there was supposed to be another piece or what. I ended up just cutting all the wires into that harness and hard-wireinng the power and speakers. The installation manual didn't say anything about the harness, but did clearly indicate what each colored wire was for - making a hard-wired install very easy. All other connections (i.e. antennae, aux input, SiriusXM, etc.) are plug & play. I did also purchase the SiriusSM SCC1 tuner, which works seamlessly with this unit. Despite what you may read on the web in the absence of more clear descriptions about the subject, you DO NOT need any sort of adapter between the Sirius box and this unit. That one plug provides power to the Sirius unit and received awesome audio quality and all of the display data you'd expect. In operating this unit, you would think that the SiriusXM function was built in, it operates so seamlessly.UPDATE: My only concern was about the harness without any receiver... turns out the problem was simply me being a moron. The unit came with all the necessary part, I had just dropped it before installing it and noticed it on the floor after I had installed the unit. Great product!

Connector if for legacy iPods (30 pin) and no USB. If you like outdated technology then this might be for you

We purchased the Fusion in March of 2013. I installed it in our sailboat in the same month. The installation was pretty straight forward and everything worked well. About 2 - 3 months later we noticed that with the iPod in the docking station that we would occasionally get an error message indicating the unit was overheating and we were surprised at how hot the entire unit got. We would just let it cool down and restart it, no worries. A couple months later we decided it might make more sense to just use the auxiliary cord to play our music instead of using the docking station. More often than not we would recharge the iPod using an AC cord rather than plugging it into the stereo. This worked fine for the next few outings. Finally at about the 13th month mark the unit just stopped working altogether. I checked the power coming in and everything checked out fine but the stereo just would not power up. I've tried to research the problem online but couldn't find any help. We're beyond the warranty period so I guess we're just out $300. I don't think we'll be buying another Fusion product.

WARNING: This deck is the price it is because it is becoming outdated. Disclaimer: I should have done more research, but this is compatible ONLY with 20 pin IPOD connections, which, is basically no current IPod product. I am setting up the audio for a friend's offshore fishing boat and assumed I would buy him an IPOD classic like mine (160GB) which unknown to me has been discontinued. I can buy one used, or aftermarket, but prices are ridiculous...and then there is the question of warranty, etc. Not to mention, he is locked into that and only that, and it is just a matter of time before the IPod has a battery or HD malfunction, and then looking at replacing the whole deck again. Further, all current IPod devices assume you will have Wi-Fi available and be using some streaming App or another and therefore have no storage capacity which does you no good if you A)off-road B) boat offshore and have not paid thousands of dollars for Sat Internet ...OK I am ranting off topic. Yes, most devices can interface with the IP600 via Bluetooth (which the Bluetooth dongle did not come with it BTW even though most indications claim it does). But then what is the point of installing outdated technology from day one. If you are looking at this deck then you take your media and entertainment needs seriously, but will be severely limiting your options from the get go. Spend the extra $160 for the UD-650.

Very cool that my iPhone 4S will be protected from the elements, and charging, while playing Pandora on the boat. I wish there was an adapter that worked with the case on the iPhone. I cannot get any combination to work, so I will have to take the case off each time I go boating, which makes it more vulnerable during the transfer. Also couldn't get an adapter to work on an iPod. I will have to research what combination is supposed to work and try again.Good sound quality. Easy installation. Fast shipping.Cheers.

This is a quality item. Just double check it will fit your dash/console/bulkhead. It is a standard single DIN fit with regards to what inserts into your dash but keep in mind this has a man sized chunky outer face. Check all the dimensions if you are fitting in a tight space or even a centre console cubby type set up. Get the sizes right and you will be delighted by this product. Although it is designed to be used on a boat I bought it for my soft top Landrover. based in Scotland I know its gonna rain when that hood is off!The IPOD feature is brilliant. About 8 different sized sleeves to ensure your IPOD or IPHONE will fit inside behind the water-tight front face. The song titles and album names come up in the massive LCD display.3 zone volume control!
