#1 accessory for GoPro cameras.
Short of the mounts that came with my gopro, the GoScope Extreme has been one of the best accessories for the action camera. I have been using it now for the past few months in concert with the WiFi remote that came with the camera and have taken shots or video I otherwise wouldn't have been able to capture. My wife and I enjoy hiking, where you can often find yourself at a bald and want to take a photo. Where we used to either take a photo of the view or of each each other, now we can get everything in one shot at once. I have also taken the pole out while boating, including jumps off the boat and underwater shots (limited to no more than a few feet submerged) and it appeared to float fine. One addition I want to make is some neon tape in strategic places as I could see the pole and camera being hard to locate even floating on the surface. There was a logo on the main pole section but this rubbed off after a few uses. The telescoping pole itself is extremely light and compact. When not in use it easily fits in a camelbak or even a deep pocket. The build quality is solid. I was worried the fasteners would be to loose or lose position often but I haven't had an issue with it yet. The built in lanyard feels secure and I'm not too worried of it coming detached.Anytime I use it around other people I get a few questions and I'm always eager to share. If you own a GoPro, you owe it to yourself to invest in GoScope. You have spent all that money on the camera, spend a little more on the mounts and accessories so you can unlock its full potential.

Just ok, but some tips will help
I bought this to take on a cruise, for snorkeling. Unfortunately, I passed on the nice long one my future son-in-law had (the Quikpod Selfie Extreme -- made by "Digipower") because it said nothing about underwater use. But he used it underwater without any problems. I don't care for turning the knobs to tighten each extension; I prefer the Quikpod's clamps that you can quickly flip to loosen or tighten each extension..Well, this GoScope unit is just ok. When it is wet, the tightening/loosening knobs are too slippery to turn and the rings are impossible to tighten enough to keep the GoPro securely pointed. It is also just about impossible to loosen when they are tightened and your hands are wet (as in snorkeling). If you don't tighten it enough, on land the GoPro camera with extended battery and floaty backdoor will turn on its own and be upside down thanks to gravity. Thank heaven that with the extended battery and floaty backdoor, under water the GoPro stays straight up. When just getting out of water, you struggle for a long time with turning the knobs. Using your T-shirt helps a LOT, so if you have this, there is a solution for you. Also, the mount is fixed to provide either a selfie view or a tilted forward view. It takes some time to swap them around. It would be far better to use a more flexible mount (like that on the Quikpod) that you can quickly loosen and then tilt or turn to whatever angle you want. Advice: if you get this, you might use an extender for the GoPro connector, so you can tilt down and up at will right on the spot, without having to stop snorkeling and unclip the GoPro. One of the extenders would have made it very much more adaptable. It wasn't miserable but I didn't smile a lot when struggling to use it.

Good pole
I bought this three weeks ago.Great pole for taking shots.Only problem I didn't liked hence the 4 stars is that I took it into a saltwater beach and sand got into the pole and I couldn't get it out. Some water was in there too. But I was able to get it out easier. Everytime I extended the pole the sands would come out a bit but also scratch the pole.I reached out to the support team and they said to put it in a tub filled with water and flush it out. Didn't try that yet. But hopefully it helps.Other than that. Good sturdy pole. I had two go pros attached to it in the beach and I had no problem. It does get heavy with two. But that has nothing to do with the pole. The pole was perfect extended. I didn't do any sports with it. So can't give review on how it holds up with skiing or anything else. For the price it was worth it.The newer models do have a way of getting the sand out easier.Straps fit well and are good.Easy to take the cameras off and switch point of view.

Best GoPro Pole for the money
Tried out a couple different poles including a shorter "original" version of the GoScope for my GoPro Hero3+ and I can honestly say that I like this one the best. I have the GoPro standard-buckle-mount adhered to almost every surface...car, skis, helmet, chesty, etc. The GoScope makes moving the GoPro from different mounts much easier.I used the GoScope original while skiing and it held up very well the Extreme seems to be of the same build quality and I am sure will hold up just fine but haven't had a chance to test it on the slopes yet.One thing to note, while I was diving with the Extreme, it slowly filled up with water during the dive which is great for neutral buoyancy, but I needed to remove the water for travel after the dive. I quickly noticed you can loosen the twist points and pump it out with no problem you could probably do the same to rinse it out but I have not tried it yet. On to the pros and cons...Pros:- Incredibly light (lightest that I have tested)- Seems very durable- No messing with screws or bolts- Great for scuba diving with 2 cameras- Fits in my back packCons:- None so farSeriously can't go wrong with the GoScope Extreme.

it slips too easily. My next pole will be a proper latch-lock
I find the locking mechanism to be flakey, it slips too easily. My next pole will be a proper latch-lock, but otherwise it's a good pole. 3 stars because having a reliable lock mechanism is sort of important ;)
