Micro-Macrame Jewelry II: Artful Designs for the Adventurous Knotter

So I have been wanting to learn how to do this Micro Macramé. I am a lover of making Jewelry and mostly Beaded Jewelry. But I have fallen in love with the look of combining Beading and Macramé together. Macramé being such an old Art , I love the re- invention of this wonderful knotting technique mixed with Beads. After a long review of different products I decided to go with Joan R Babcock's book. I studied some of the items on her website and also some of her work and I love her work! This book is a fantastic book! It is full of wonderful illustrations on knotting techniques that are so easy to follow. Great tips given by Joan on what products she uses and why . Then there is a bunch of complete product instructions in great detail , on how to make each piece of jewelry. Just love this book and I have already ordered from her web site my products that I need to get started. I will also be getting her other book and DVD too.

I've been doing macrame' off and on for over 50 years, so I am always open to new ideas. This book is full of them!

I'm not quite ready for these patterns yet, but I keep looking at them. They are for a slightly more advanced knotter than I am just yet, however they are beautiful and I hope to get there one day soon. They are beautiful!

I love micro-macrame pieces that Joan Babcock offers for sale, and I was expecting to see some similar patterns in her latest book. I was disappointed to find that most of these were similar to what I have been able to access from other macrame artists online and in books. The exception was the bracelet shown on the cover. Where are the cavendoli patterns she is known for? Her book Micro-Macrame Jewelry was a great intro to cavendoli, and I am hungering for more advanced patterns, but none were to be found in this latest book.

Like other Babcock books, a lot of eye candy and clear, color illustrations. Clear instructions, but best suited to those with some experience with basic macrame knots and techniques, such as cord management, cord splicing, achieving even tension. Would have appreciated more Cavendoli work on more sophisticated designs.

wow! my first venture into this medium. Clear, extremely well written and illustrated instructions...beautiful patterns to choose from, and a great reference tool. This one is a keeper. (So many of my books end up making their way back out of my door...not this one!).

A good book, but I was disappointed that there weren't more interesting and current designs. However it has a number of great designs all worth a try.

I absolutely adore this book. It isn't one for beginners as it is quite complex but anyone who has been doing macrame for a while will find that this book stretches their abilities and helps them to advance their knowledge. There are lots of photographs alongside the instructions which is very helpful as the terminology is not the one that is in general use for macrame but their is a comprehensive list of terms and abbreviations to use if you need it. Some of the beads that are recommended are a little difficult to buy in the UK but are easily ordered from Amazon.

This book is really much better than the first book, because there are many coloured photos, each step is very detailed and the projects are very interesting for an intermediate level. I'd like to have some references by the author about where to buy stones or particular beads.I live in Italy, but it's very difficult to find an online shop with a large selection of beads.

Love every single project in this book. I bought her first book "Micro-Macrame Jewelry: Tips and Techniques for Knotting with Beads" to learn the basics, and this is book 2 with slightly more advanced designs, however she again gives instructions for all the basic knotting techniques you'll need.
