Pro tools make a difference.
I try not to do a lot of drywall work because I don't enjoy it. As an advanced diy'er/novice pro I can say that good quality tools do make a big difference in the finished results. This is the best trowel I have ever used by far! Yes, it is not cheap by any means, but it will give you the best results from your abilities, limited or not.

Worked well
This was excellent. I am not a professional. I watched youtube videos from "Vancouver Carpenter" and "That kilted guy" to learn drywall techique so I could finish a 430 square foot room. I feel that my job results were very positive considering my inexperience. I made mistakes. I had a lot of shimming to do, but I neglected to shim some of the walls and had to fix a lot of crooked walls. Although I was much slower than a pro would have been, I feel like I can to a very good quality job now. I also had short knee walls under sloped ceiling, which I used ultraflex to help me get a straight corner. I had accumulated tools for the job from various locations including big box hardware stores. They all varied in quality. My hawk was low quality, but worked well enough. Some of my knives were pretty bad, rusted, had poor handles etc. This trowel was awesome. Comfortable handle, durable metal, no rust. It is obviously made well for people who used it for their profession. Anyway, as much as I hate drywall finishing, this was easier to use than a knife and I spilled less mud and probably got smoother joints. Even though I got tired after hours of holding hawk in left hand and trowel in right hand, the trowel did everything it could to help do the job right: better grip angle, grip texture, grip size, blade flexibility etc.

Nice flat trowel
Just received this 11 1/2 x 4 1/2 trowel and so far very pleased. It is definitely flat, not curved like most trowels. Need it to be flat to work with my taping and mudding project. It comes with guards to protect the blade edges when storing, plus the corners are rounded to make the application of mud smooth, not leaving marks. The handle is comfortable but I'm hoping it isn't too large for my hand. I'm excited to use it.

Search for the perfect trowel has ended!
I find most tools just work.... some better than others and your expectations pretty much coincide with the price tag. This trowel however is practically magic for the money. Ive spent less and yet way more without getting the quality this trowel brings to the table. Corners are rounded and lifted... a subtle and uniform convex bend to the blade ends. Some DIY'rs may find it a bit pricey but it lays down mud with some serious precision. Definitely worth the investment and built to last. Seems a touch lighter than others too. Im not big on leaving reviews but this one deserves a few minutes of time for the effort that went into making it.

Quality product
So much better than my previous two tools that kept warping. This stays straight and lays down a consistent layer of mud.

Amazing trowel for those pesky butt joints
For years as an advanced DIYer, I’ve used a12” knife to feather drywall butt joints. 30+ years ago, that’s what I was trained on. Now I have an older house with inexpertly installed 1/2” drywall and untextured walls. I needed something more for a couple bathroom renovations, so I took the plunge and bought the 14” Level 5 trowel. WOW! What a difference!!This is an amazing tool! It’s flat, solid, and very precise. I highly recommend it. It’s expensive, but you really do get what you pay for. It saved me tons of hassle and lots of time sanding!
