It's Hard To Be A Verb: A Picture Book to Help Kids with ADHD

What I love about Julia Cook's stories is they are all common situations that kids experience but tackled in a fun and interesting way. Its Hard to Be a Verb is no different. Some kids find it hard to sit still - their bodies need to move. Verbs are doing words and lets face it, someone who is Hyperactive is always doing something. This book helps open a discussion about how it is hard to keep your body still sometimes, but for kids with ADHD its even harder. There are no labels or diagnoses in this story just a fun way of opening up discussion about ways of controlling our bodies when they need to move (a lot). Love it.

I bought this for my own kid and although it's pretty straightforward with the message, I think he accepted it (Though he asked my "Mom, why did you buy me this book?, like realizing what it was about). The illustrations are nice (not top-notch but pretty ok), so that's another reason I give it 4 stars.
