This is NOT made of metal for those who are wondering, yet I gave it 5 stars? That's because it's made from a very dense polymer plastic that I couldn't break on my best day and I am a pretty big guy. The screws it comes with very long and thick and good quality. You DO have to drill into the hardwood (or whatever floor you have) to install but that is what gives it the ability to block intruders from kicking in your door. I recommend combining it with Door Bull for added security as this blocks the bottom of the door and Door Bull blocks the middle. Comes with a nice drill bit to match the screws for easy install. If you have a decent power drill this install takes all of 10 minuets to do right. Highly recommended.

Easy to install, except that it sat a bit higher than my threshold so I had to sand it down a bit. The material isn’t cheap, per se, but doesn’t look like $100 worth of product. Thankfully It hasn’t been tested (and I hope it never is), but I am confident it will do its job. Remember security isn’t about stopping someone determined to get it but about slowing them down. I think this will do a good job at that.

Makes me feel more secure at night. However the top of doors still vulnerable as it holds strong at bottom but about 2 feet up can see the difference allowing someone to get enough leverage to lodge top to open somehow by either breaking the door or using crow bar. I bought top of door by another brand to give maximum hold. Need to say or show what to do if have quater round moulding at base of door. I had to remove the quarter round on both entrance and back doors to position flat against door.

Easy to slip in and out of base and does the job. I do think they should come down on the price. I put it in the middle of French doors. It secures the weakest link in my home.

This is a simple home security product with took my about 30 minutes to install. I used it to secure a door which does not have a deadbolt. The wife approved of the simplicity of use and added security, I will be buying one more to sure up another entry door as well. I do wish they were a little longer to get more screws into the floor, but it still works good as is.

Excellent product, extremely solid construction. I purchased some plastic anchors separately so that I could anchor the provided screws into the concrete foundation. The installation took about an hour but would go more quickly on a wood floor. Would definitely purchase again.

The demo they still show is with the OLD VERSION made from solid metal. What they sell now is a door block with mount made out of PLASTIC. Want to trust your safety with that? And they have the nerve to charge a 140 bucks for it!

While we liked the concept of this product, it was too high off the floor to allow us to open the door at all. We would have had to modify the hardwood flooring. We returned the unit. It did seem to be well made.
