Under the Sea Scratch and Sketch: An Art Activity Book for Imaginative Artists of All Ages (Scratch & Sketch) Spiral-bound – June 22, 2005

Gave it to my science-focused GrandNiece. She LOVES it. Gives her a chance to learn the looks of various sea creatures, then to draw them on a very fun surface medium. Some art, some science, lots of colorful fun. Her comment about it was “I think I’d like this one even if it was an adult!”I agree - she invited me to draw one, and it was totally fun and a learning experience to draw that many-chambered nautilus that came out of the black scratch top in swirling cors of purple & green.

My daughter loves all things "sea," especially the creatures. She plays with this book all the time. Only bad thing is when she decides to draw with her fingernails. Lovely black stuff that's hard to clean out. That's not the book's fault, though. I still let her keep it but really try to get her to use the drawing stick that came with it. If you have a young one who might put their fingers in their mouths, you might want to wait until they're a bit older. Other than that, it's 5 stars because the user--my daughter--enjoys this immensely!

Great gift for kids. My 7 and 4 year old love scratch are and then book has lots of pages to draw on and make see creatures. Once you draw my girls like to them scratch off all the black so we get lots of use out of them.

There's an informational paragraph on the lefthand page with a picture underneath it. There is black scratch paper on the righthand page. My son is 5 years old and loves it. He looks at the picture on the left and draws it on the right. It is great for kids who enjoy drawing and want to practice their skills in a very fun way. I definitely recommend!

I like this book I bought two of them one for my 3 year old and one for my 5 year old we have bought these kind of scratch off books before this one does not have the patterns that they enjoying tracing like some of the other types

Bought this for my 7 year old for a fraction of what a toy store in Cape Cod was charging. He absolutely loves it! He has spent many hours creating drawings in this book. He loves scratch art and it is nice to have it in a book form instead of loose sheets.

Eleven year old daughter loves these - it’s her third over the last couple of years. Great for traveling and keeps her entertained for quite some time. Only issue for Mom is the black scrapings which can get everywhere, so there are certain places she’s banned from using it!

My Kids LOVED this scratch and sketch! Hours of fun. We take it with us everywhere! They love the colors, they love scratching to see what design is underneath and also designing their own scribbles. A great investment for some quiet time. I love that there are a variety of themes to choose from. It helps with their curiosity. I bought more!!!

Me parece genial para cualquier edad... un cuaderno muy completo y con un formato muy cómodo. Es una forma de dibujar diferente y superdivertida. Tengo una niña de 3 años y otra de 8, y nos encanta a las tres!

Für den Sommerurlaub habe ich eine Beschäftigung abseits von TV und Co gesucht. das Buch ist überraschend gut angekommen. Mein 7-jähriger Sohn hat sich lange damit beschäftigt und mir stolz all seine Werke gezeigt. Sogar viel später hat er es nochmal hervor geholt und die Seiten um weitere Zeichnungen ergänzt. Ich kaufe sicher noch einen Band!

My 7 year old grand-daughter loved it and when I had a little go I had to give it back to her because I could happily have done the whole book without stopping! There's something very satisfying about scratching off the black coating and the colours underneath were lovely and different on each page. There are pictures to copy but you can do your own thing if you like. I'm tempted to order one for myself.
