Logan Graphics 4000 Deluxe Handheld Pull Style Mat Cutter, Silver

Instead of spending $40 to buy a custom size frame, I bought the Logan Graphics 4000 to cut a mat that came with a standardized frame size to make the opening larger to fit a custom size diamond painting image. I watched the 2 minute YouTube video, read the instructions, and did a couple of sample cuts. Worked awesome! Got perfectly straight lines at 45 degree beveled angles and great corners. I am very satisfied with this purchase. Glad I bought this and I can't wait to use it again for my next custom size diamond painting! In the future, this tool will allow me to save a LOT of money that I would have spent on purchasing custom sized frame. Now, I can just cut the mats to make standard frames work!

Please don't let people make you think this is difficult to use. I just matted up my first paintings, and it was very easy. Yes, I had to watch a tutorial first and it does require a little thought. The tool cuts beautifully and is well designed. I love the little pencil in the guide that lets you mark your borders. Brilliant! I purchased the Logan 5000 cutter withthe Logan Adapt-a-rule. Seriously, if I can do it, so can you!

A very nice handy tool for matt cutting. Works really good. Smooth cutting, accurate markings on the tool for the cutting. I'd like to get a better cutting matt and system for holding matts in place. But this is a high recommendation tool!!

I used it by pulling mainly, but also pushing with no issues. It’s easy to use, just watch the tutorial on the manufacturer’s website. The only thing I didnt like that much was the way it holds the pencil lead. It’s too tight and any additional pressure breaks the pencil lead. Unfortunate because it’s a great feature.

There is a learning curve, but after practicing on a few scrap pieces of mat board, my 2 projects came out beautifully. So glad I invested in this mat cutter. Much less expensive than having art work matted and framed by a shop. Well worth the cost and effort.

The 4000 cutter seems to work great. And while this doesn't affect its functionality, the cutter I received was used. It had streaks where the black plastic handle rubs against the metal housing. There was also some minor rusting. If I'm going to be charged full price for an item, I think it's reasonable to expect a new, unused item. Unfortunately it's too much of a hassle to start a return, but I would purchase from here again.

Craft stores have a great selection of frames and matt board for very reasonable prices. With a good matt cutter you can save yourself hundreds of dollars in framing.What I like about this cutter (I've owned a couple others) is that it's a pull style which feels more natural and offers a better view when sliding along your guide. The blade and it's markings allow you to cut clean to the corner. The other cutters I had required a tiny bit of hand cutting in the corner. The pencil lead in the measuring guide broke before I could use it. It seems like a great idea, but be careful when putting your cutter away since it's easily broken.Great construction and great instructions included. This will last many years and pay for itself over and over again.

Does a good job but does not last long. This is my second one. the mechanism inside precludes the cutting of too many pieces. My first one only lasted through about 6 mat cuts. I bought the second one to get be out of a bind. If you are going to cut several look for a better made product. Also, these devices have very little capability of their own. Your cuts depend on everything you do, such as straight edge,hand pressure, steady hand.
