JURASSIC WORLD SAVAGE STRIKE Plesiosaurus

2019 Mattel Jurassic World Dino Rivals “Savage Strike” Plesiosaurus This figure has been at the top of many wishlists for a long time now. It has been available in other countries for several months, but is only now starting to trickle into the United States. The sculpt is really nice. The body has a mix of smooth and wrinkly textures similar to what you would see on many marine mammals. The head is almost snake-like in appearance, and the teeth are pointing outward, as they should be. I do wish the teeth were a little longer though. One nice little touch of sculptural detail is the little dewlap hanging just below the jawline. The articulations are impressive. All four flippers can rotate 360°. The tail can move up and down. The neck is divided into two sections. The lower section can pivot up and down. The upper section connects to the head, and can pivot up and down, as well as rotate 360°. The jaw is also articulated, and can open very wide. The action gimmick is activated by a button on the back. When pressed, the flippers move in a swimming motion. The main coloration is a greenish beige with those lovely Mattel flecks throughout. Along the back, from the base of the tail, to the tip of the snout, is mottled with a deep green. The eyes on mine are painted almost perfectly, with only the right eye being slightly off the mark. Strangely, there also appears to be a smudge of paint from the eye application on mine, on the right side of the head, just above the mouth. It almost looks like he has two eyes on that side. It looks worse on camera than it does in person though. The tongue and jaw flaps are painted pink. The teeth are painted very well, with only the most minor overlap on the bottom teeth on the left side. All extremely minor paint flaws. This is a great little figure, and one of the best of the Savage Strike range. If you can find it, I highly recommend picking this one up. It’s a genus we Jurassic fans have wanted for a very long time, and Mattel has, once again, delivered in spades!

Nice little figure. I've attached a photo to give an idea of its size. Pressing the button on its back causes the front and back flippers to move up and down. The neck can also be adjusted into different positions (straight or angled.) I received this item much earlier than expected. I ordered it on Nov. 25th and received it on Nov. 27th, even though I wasn't supposed to receive it until Dec. 6th. That was a pleasant surprise!

I am super happy with both of these plesiosaurs and with the paint on them and the price. I highly recommend them and they have lots of articulation. I would suggest if it's even possible to put them in the water should you desire to without ruining them. I have the blue version and you can put it under the water several times without problems.

I bought this as a gift for my grandson. He is a huge Jurassic World fan. This does have the code on bottom of foot, which is a big deal. The code goes to Jurassic World app., which allows child to learn further information on the dinosaur.

Very small toy, looks bigger but actually palm size

I got this for my little one for Christmas 2019. I hadn’t ever seen it in stores. He was so excited! It moves great and unique to what’s available.

Broke within few minutes of my son playing with it
