Westcott ES-1 Erasing Shield, 3.5" X 2.25"

So thin and small that I am always losing these eraser shields. Very handy and useful.

I’m a charcoal artist and having an erasing help like this is super. I would recommend it to others.

It works properly, but I think I'm still a bit too concerned about it bending. It is a flexible steel that will be durable provided it doesn't get bent out of shape in one's travel bag. It's best to keep it secured in a binder pocket that won't be subject to bending or even a hard case that it completely flat and won't bend with the other pencils and supplies contained within the case. The different slits within the shield make for a wide variety of areas to erase without taking out most of your work in the process. It works best with white erasers so as not to leave colored marks behind on detailed work. Probably paired up with a thin eraser pen would make it ideal for cleaning up pencil over strokes in art or draft work.

Best eraser shield ever!

I ordered 2, and both had very sharp edges. Once i polished off the edges of all the cut outs it it works exactly as designed. Before polishing, the eraser would get rough cuts all over from the sharp edges.

It arrived bent. Not a crease, but more of an arc. I put it in my 20 ton press between 2 1" plates of stainless and flattened it back out, but I should not have had to do that. And most people don't have a 20 ton press. Other than that, it works like it should (not sure how it would not work).
