amazing supplement
As pointed out by other reviewers, the Longvida brand of curcumin is THE best. If you want a detailed look at the evidence, check out this video:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UdpU9BSi2ZcBasically, Longvida maximizes bioavailability of FREE curcumin, (as opposed to glucuronidated curcumin). Free curcumin is the only form that can cross the blood brain barrier and exert effects on the brain. Other brands fail to increase levels of free curcumin at all really. So the difference is VERY IMPORTANT.That's the science, but everyone likes anecdotes better, right? So I just want to say that this supplement, along with a few other things, has had a major, huge, enormous impact on my mood, clarity of thought, and anxiety. Before I started, I was a wreck. I couldn't read a book or watch an episode of tv---"normal" people's methods of relaxation---without becoming anxious. I was trying out SSRI's, but they were proving to be useless. After starting this, along with a few other things, I'm 90% better. What about the "few other things"? Well, they include pregnenolone, NAC, probiotics, and a fluctuating roster of other herbs, and they're helping a lot too...but I estimate that curcumin is doing ~50% of the heavy lifting. When I ran out of this stuff, my OCD returned with a vengenace, my mood plummeted; I was better as soon as I resumed taking it.So check this stuff out, and don't think of it as a purely "anti-aging" supplement. That's what it's marketed as, but it's a powerful anti-inflammatory, and everyone in any kind of disease-state is likely to have inflammation going on.

I did not feel or witness any benefits from swelling ...
I did not feel or witness any benefits from swelling after a couple of months of daily use..Did not receive a scoop with the order. Hard to tell if it is any different than numeric that one buys off the shelf in the grocery.

... whole Douglas laboratories video another reviewer posted and was recommended by an article on increasing BDNF
I watched the manufacturer's (Douglas laboratories) presentation and read an article on increasing BDNF taking Longvida. I am skeptical with the blatant overhyped reviews so far.Edit: It is VERY expensive and doesn't have the same properties of normal turmeric. beyond that though, I have noticed an effect from taking it. I will report more with continued use.Edit 2. Their video comparing other types of turmeric bioavailibility does not include turmeric with black pepper, they also do not talk about Nano turmeric, which has been used internationally for Alzheimer research. Overall Douglas Laboratories seem more into PR and IP protection than making a solid product, or talking about the science behind it.Disappointed but still taking.

Quality
Bought this for its combination of price & the Longvida reputation as THE curcumin to buy if you want to reach the brain. I take it periodically & can notice increased clarity of mind when I do.

Excellent Product!
Really great product! I did a lot of research to find the best supplement and this one came out on top. I'm hoping that it aids in dissolving possible amyloid plaque in the brain. We have a history of Alzheimer's disease in my family and want to take measures to keep it at bay. And this Curcumin is also excellent for overall health. I'm very pleased with this transaction! Thank you very much!

As antiinflammatory
I have been putting curcumin in my daily capsule for 7 months, together with Ceylon cinnamon, ginger, and cayenne pepper. My finger does not lock anymore, and my knees are not as stiff. It took about a month for this.

Very Effective, but doesn't mix well!
Recommended by an internist and seems to be the most effective Curcumin I have found to date. I wish they came in capsules as well to make it easier to take.
