Cracked screen from trying to pull phone out of a ...
Cracked screen from trying to pull phone out of a sleeve that was too tight, so phone was not damaged internally before I bought this display as a replacement. The job was doable, but do your homework first, and research Youtube for demonstrations on how to do it yourself. I also read blogs and learned by others mistakes before attempting the job myself. The display has a short connector, but with patience you can eventually slip it into place. The displayed worked perfectly after my first attempt. The home button felt "snappy" and weird, but after time I got used to it.After 11 months, the home button failed. I cannot access any apps without powering down and then changing to the app of choice. This must be done each time I need a different app. It's a nightmare if I don't keep the phone app open after any other app usage as you cannot answer the phone otherwise.I'm back to Amazon to buy a new home button or a replacement glass for my original Apple display. It was a lot easier to just replace the display than the screen, but now here I am starting over.I will keep this phone as long as I can keep it going....

Successful Repair
My spouse had dropped her phone and the screen was badly shattered. I decided to attempt replacing the screen assembly after reading several reviews. The unit arrived from China sooner than estimated and included a small kit of replacement tools. I had no experience in this repair so used a YouTube video for help. The most tedious step is getting all connections in place. However, if you are patient and careful, making the connections is not complicated. Once installed the phone has worked fine and the cost is less than the basic upgrade fee charged by my cell carrier (assuming one is eligible!).Note - the unit is not OEM. The picture is slightly less crisp than the original and this unit had a very small imperfection in the glass along one edge. However, the phone is back to full functionality and working fine. I'm glad I tried this approach as it has proven the least costly way to extend the life of the phone.

Replaces well, not as durable as original, protect it properly
This worked great, however does seem a little less durable than the original. This did break, however, I don't blame the maker. Kids refuse to use a durable case opting for less durable cases, and then dropping their phone and blaming the screen, or saying "I only dropped it 2 feet from the floor" hello phones are NOT supposed to be dropped and if you are accident prone (like me) your phone should be protected accordingly with a cover that contains a hard plastic screen.Anyhow, I don't blame the screen, the kids just don't want to be responsible, buy this, research how to replace on you tube. And protect it with a good complete phone case, not just a film.

Broke within a couple of weeks
Got this for my teenage daughter's 3gs when the old screen just went blank. The new screen worked though sometimes the digitizer wouldn't respond when first turned on. Then, within a couple of weeks, a large crack had appeared in the surface going halfway diagonally across the screen. I interrogated my daughter and she insisted she didn't sit on it (never carries it in pockets -- doesn't have back pockets in any of her clothes) and claimed she never dropped it. Now there are five cracks and it's starting to interfere with usage.Well, I'm going to chalk it up to incidental damage but I'm still suspicious of the quality. I gave it a 3/5 rating because she has never before broken a screen on a phone after 2 phone-years of phone ownership. I will order a new one and see how long this one lasts.

Easy to install and works flawlessly
I was a bit worried about replacing just the glass, so went for the whole digitizer for not a lot more. Let me tell you, it's a pretty simple job and this came with a tool kit event though it didn't say it would. Quick installation - I took my time and it was still only like 15 minutes. One clue - you might want a magnifying glass if your eyes are older and weaker like mine. My son got a new iPhone using my upgrade and so I fixed his old one using this and my younger son now has what he uses as an iPod and can play games and music. So, well worth the money!

Super good quality and easy install. Would order again
This installed like a charm. Quality is up to par of original screen. The screen does not deform or show rainbows like some cheaper versions. takes less than 5 min to install if you are used to small things like models or similar electronics. My trick was to install reverse from removal. I removed by taking the top of the screen out first. INSTALL BY PLACING THE TOP IN FIRST THEN FINISH WITH THE BOTTOM. Nice o-ring to hold in place and the screws at the bottom will keep in place. This was much easier than the ipod nano screen that I replaced.Don't be afraid to order if you have an iphone 3GS.

Full Assembly vs Glass only replacement for iPhone 3GS LCD Touch Screen
I purchased just the glass replacement for my iPhone originally along with the little toolkit. It was a nightmare trying to get the little screws out and I ended up stripping them. I decided to order the Full Assembly Replacement and wish I had done that in the beginning. It wasn't that much more expensive than just the glass alone and it was SO EASY to install. I did search online for video tutorials and found one that I watched a few times to make sure I made the three connections in the correct order. I also read all reviews I could find on the full assembly replacement. The parts I received were in excellent working order and my iPhone is working like a charm!
