This book is ideal for beginners. The descriptions for the herbs are short and simple. It was not quite what I was looking for, but I respect Rosemary Gladstar and her work.If you want a more in-depth understanding of the herbs, then I suggest Matthew Wood's books. His books weave in more philosophy and include the kinds of things in each herb (for example, volatile oils, saponins, etc.). It also includes more of the latest understandings derived from other herbalists in the field regarding each herb.

I was really excited to get this book. When I got it and reviewed it I was disappointed, as this book should of been called "Herbs for Infants Health"The size of this book is a little bit bigger than hand size.I found most, if not all, the herbs that are used in this book would have to be ordered, which is fine if you have the money to do so, but for me it is costly to do it.Anyway, I do think it is a cool book if you have infants and the money to order all the herbs needed to make the remedies etc. I also think it does teach you what that herb is used for.

We own many of Rosemary Gladstar's books and have never been disappointed. This is an excellent recourse to have, full of easy to understand and make recipes. Yes, it's a small book, however I appreciate one book dedicated to children so I don't have to flip through larger books, and when I'm out and about, this one almost always comes with me in case I have a few spare moments to read. It is packed with good information, easy enough for a beginner to follow and definitely worth your while to read cover to cover a few times! It's becoming more and more crucial for man to get back to his roots and increase our health by doing what we can to strengthen our immune system and avoid medication whenever possible and this is especially true for the children of this generation.

I really liked this book. It's s rather small book, not much bigger than my hand, but packed full of good information. Some people complain that the ingredients need to be purchased or grown yourself. Maybe They had a different idea of what herbal remedies are. I bought this book to use in conjunction with Mrs.Gladstar's other herbal remedy book. While this book does have remedies in it, there are more remedies in her bigger herbal book, but this book tells how to break those down and adapt the dosages to children.

I read the product reviews before buying but thought it was still a good idea. I was wrong, honestly it doesn't provide me with simple recipes to make things helpful for a child/baby. I was looking more for recipes for diaper cream, sun screen, lotions, shampoos, conditioner, and what I can use for teething. One reviewer said you would have to have a huge collection to make any of this stuff, they were correct. Its not easy as an amateurto have all the herbs needed and so forth. Plus some of the herbs suggested for a young child and suggest not good for them.

gift for my daughter who is expecting in March, who the information from Rosemary Gladstar was useful when she was a child. lots of safe and alternative help to treat common issues safely.

Love this practical handbook on how to support my child's health and immune system naturally. I gave it to an expectant mother, so she could build her apothecary ahead of baby's arrival. A must have for all herbal loving mothers!

Rosemary gladstar is the mother of western herbalism and her books are essential for anyone interested in herbal remedies. Easy, well put together book with simple was to treat common childhood ailments. Fortunately we have a local herb store so no need to order a bunch of herbs online... That would get pricy. Highly recommend
