Red & White Quilts: 14 Quilts with Timeless Appeal from Today's Top Designers Kindle Edition

This book includes 14 quilts from 14 designers. The designs are mostly pieced but a few also include applique. Flower Power (52" square) by Helen Stubbings is entirely applique and would be wonderful for Valentine's Day since it includes open hearts. One of the quilts includes English Paper Piecing. Three of the quilts have more of a modern appearance. (One looks like hash tags.)I'm more of a traditional quilter and my favorite quilts designs include the following which may help you figure out if this book is for you:- Sweet Dreams by Lisa Alexander which is made from 45 or fight blocks which result in the allusion of rings even though the quilt is made using straight-line sewing. As shown it is a big quilt measuring 78.5" x 96.5".- Ruby Jubilee by Karen Styles is an eight-pointed LeMoyne star quilt (76.5" square) that is lovely but will need quite a bit of quilting expertise to complete since there are so many points that need to be matched...but the outcome is awesome!. Scarlet Song by Kim Diehl (one of my favorite designers) includes Dresden plate blocks, pieced stars and a small amount of applique. The pieced borders are quite interesting and really finish off the 63.5" square quilt.- Tracking Traditions by Debbie Roberts which uses Turkey Track blocks that surround a lightly appliqued center square is very nice and the center motif could be changed out easily for anything else...even a panel that's 17" finished. This quilt is set on point and measures 57.5" x 69.5".The book is easy to read (large enough and dark enough font), The instructions are complete and there include useful diagrams for making the blocks/quilts. Templates for piecing and appliques follow immediately after the quilt pattern. There are no "basic" quilting instructions.If I was offered do-overs, would I buy the book? Yes!

I adore two color quilts with Red & White being my favorite. Good instructions and beautiful quilts. A couple are gracing beds in my house. Blue & White as well as Cheddar & White look just as beautiful.

Gorgeous photography and excellent instructions. Not to speak of the jaw dropping-ly beautiful quilts. Can't wait to make them! Thank you!

Red is my favorite color so I was instantly drawn to this book. Several patterns and I want to make some of them. This would be a nice addition to your quilting library no matter what your favorite color is.

bellissimo libro, non ero tanto convinta quando l'ho ordinato (m'interessava uno dei quilt) ma quando l'ho sfogliato ho dovuto ricrederemi. I modelli proposti sono nuovi e freschi, forse perché fatti da diverse designer. Soprattutto è facile immaginare altre declinazioni di colore. Le istruzioni mi sembrano ben dettagliate, devo provare a fare un quilt ma "a occhio" sono veramente chiare.
