Inside Reading 2e Student Book Level 2

Great approach to teaching the Academic Word List and a number of important academic skills like summarizing, outlining, etc. Each unit opens with target vocabulary and students are asked to indicate their understanding of the word based on a six-point Likert scale (from totally unfamiliar to used confidently in both writing and speaking); at the end of each unit I ask students to go back to that and fill it out again. If all goes well they have gained in their understanding of each target vocab item. Exercises look at corpora to get examples of target items in use, and writing assignments are challenging but not overly so.
