FIXED MY FREEZING AND RROD PROBLEM
I've had my 360 since launch back in 2005. It's been great, but recently started locking up (freezing) and would get the occasional RROD. It would even lock up when my daughters would be watching Netflix. Total bummer. The symptoms of our Xbox got worse and worse. Eventually it would freeze after about 1-2 mins of powering on. Then I started seeing the RROD. 5 and 2 year old girls that are unable to play Fruit Ninja are very unhappy campers.I've tried the overheating towel trick in the past and it worked, however it was never a good fix and it didn't last long at all.I did some research and found out that by using a heat gun to reflow the solder under the CPU and GPU, that it most often fixes the problems I was seeing. Also those X clamps seem to cause a lot of problems.I ordered this kit (thanks Amazon Prime), and a $20 Wagner heat gun. Disassembled the xbox and reflowed the solder, let it cool down and then reassemble with the hardware screw kit from XBRdepot. No more X clamps. Our Xbox is up and running like a champ. This totally saved me from having to spend $200 on a new 360 console. The hardware kit is pretty basic, but it does the job and fits perfectly. Follow the directions! If you're having problems with RROD and locking up, reflow your solder and install this kit. I'm glad I got this one, because the other reviews for the other kits say that the screws are too thick and causes the motherboard to not line up properly. This kit fits PERFECTLY. No drilling, no flexing of the board. Seriously, it's great and saved me from spending time at the hardware store digging up bolts and washers.

Perfect Fit
Mine came exactly how it was described. I reflowed a friend's 360 and then used this screw/washer set to reattach the heatsinks. I chose to NOT put the nylon washer between the screw head and motherboard (bottom) based off advice from someone I know who works on these things frequently. I did put one nylon with a metal on top of it between the heatsink and the motherboard. The spacing seemed just about right. Everything is working at the moment so my friend should be fine at least for a while. Ventilation is still an issue with older 360s so that is something to take into consideration even once this is done. If you are pretty adept with this type of thing, you may want to Google "360 12v fan mod." This kit will leave you with some extra washers, so if you find that you have some left over, you did not necessarily do it wrong. The heatsinks are a major pain to get back on the screws so I would highly recommend taping the heads on the bottom of the motherboard. Having to crawl around the floor looking for dropped washers and screws gets old. I would definitely recommend this little kit, especially being that purchasing all these pieces separately at Lowes will run you just under $16, not to mention the time and gas spent.

Everything you really need
If you're experienced with repairing XBOX 360s, particularly the RROD, this kit is all you really need. You can go to 6 different hardware stores trying to find steel and nylon washers that actually fit or you can just buy this perfectly packaged kit for dirt cheap and be done in minutes. There are better kits available for beginners (which you should use if you are a beginner) but once you've fixed a few, a basic kit like this is perfect and much more efficient. The only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is because the manual can get a little confusing since they wrote one manual for all their different kits, so finding the section that applies to you can be a little aggravating if you're new to this...but then again, if you've fixed a few, a manual isn't really necessary at all.

Perfect Hardware, Good X-Clamp Replacement
Great replacement for the x-clamps from Microsoft. My Xbox 360 elite that I got in 2008 worked perfectly until one day in 2013 it just didn't start up and gave me the red ring of death. I did a heat-gun fix, applied arctic silver 5 thermal paste to the CPU and GPu, and replaced my x-clamps with these washers and screws and the console is back from the dead. I've played some Call of Duty Black Ops, NHL 09, and even installed and played the first mission of Grand Theft Auto 5 on my console since doing these fixes and haven't run into a problem yet. I couldn't find instructions on how to install this kit, but I used the plastic washers only and they seem to work just fine with one on each side of the motherboard.

Good deal but a pain in the butt to use
I love how this comes with thermal paste, and its not like Arctic Silver which is more liquid. This stuff solidifies and gums up a bit faster which is nice for this project. My complaint comes with all the freaking washers. I like to use rubber ones and these are vinyl I believe and you surround them with metal ones. I swear I need 8 arms to attach this but after 3 Xboxes I got kinda good at but still. Says it comes with an instructional e-manual which the one that I have did not come with. If these came with rubber washers or something that was more flexible that would be better in my opinion but if you are looking for a good deal to fix your Red Ring or E47 this is the cheapest way to go for sure.

Back in operation...
Our original Xbox 360 from when they first came out finally burned itself out.Cleaned the old thermal compound off, performed a reflow, put on some new arctic silver 5, dumped the x-clamps and replaced with this kit and we're now back in operation.5 stars from me - XBRdepot got it right.EDIT:About a month after the fix it went out again. It was played every day before it went out the second time, this temporary fix would definitely allow you to save all of your data.If there is a permanent fix it would require an actual reflow unit to properly reconnect the solder joint. Just invest in another 360, they're cheap enough now.

Nice hardware kit.
Thanks to the seller, they have put together a nice hardware kit available with prime shipping. Price I feel could be just a little lower compared to other kits. The nylon washers are nice for their purpose and I used my own high quality thermal paste, been a few weeks since I repaired my rrod and no problems since. Overall good value, just ordered two more as a friend just asked to get his rrod fixed.
