Cook Pro Red Stainless Whistling Teakettle with Heavy Duty Encapsulated Base, 3-Quart

I initially would have rated this kettle 5 stars. The finish is nice, the sound is right though not excessively loud, and it's even ergonomical when pouring. My complaint (and reason for 3 stars) is that a POINTED screw fell out into my drink which went unnoticed until the last couple sips. The screw in question is on the front of the handle and hidden behind the pour cap. That screw can apparently become easily loose and fall into your drink while pouring. It is very hard to see and I didn't even realize there was as screw there until it fell out. I now check the screw before every use so I know I'm not about to drink a sharp metal object.

It looked good when it arrived, though there was one scuff already on the enamel, and I like that the whistle was quieter than my last kettle, which could wake the dead. But after only a month of use the inside is completely rusted. I may have left water in it once or twice, but my old kettle lasted me 5 years with no rusting even without perfect use. I only pitched that one because the outer enamel had become worn and burnt looking, but now I wish I'd kept it because I'm going to have to throw this one out too. Tried boiling water with vinegar and baking soda in the kettle to remove the rust, but there's way too much.

I bought this Sept 26th 2015, yesterday Nov 9th when boiling water for tea, it began to let steam out around the lid and didn't whistle. I tried to rearrange the lid then it started blowing it out the other side, So I tried again today and this time it blew steam on both sides of the lid now and doesn't whistle, I couldn't see anyway to get to fit snug again and it has a rusted area on the inside of the bottom seam, I have not boiled anything but water in this pot, I couldn't even pick up the pot because of the steam, had to turn the stove off until it cooled,

Scratched within 3 days on the stove. Looks old in less than a week. I loved it for day 1, already considering my next tea kettle. Would not go for something painted red next time but basic stainless.It got 3 stars from me because it actually works really well and I like the design. Just wanted something that would look nice a little longer.

This teapot is okay for the price. I had to return the first one I ordered because the whistle on the teapot did not whistle. So I returned it and ordered a replacement. It works better, but I feel the whistle on this teapot can be louder. I kept it because you can't beat the price for a 3 quart teapot.

Huge capacity, but the whistle is very quiet, and when it gets really hot, the spout mechanism pops off and I have to go looking for the spring once it cools down. Nice for the price, but can tell it won't be lasting as long as the last teakettle I had....

Was very happy the first few days - loved the color, loved the way it worked. However, about a week later, I opened the lid one morning and found white floating balls (looked like glue balls) and the bottom of the inside was starting to rust - I returned it for a new one. The second one had an oily slime and pit marks on the inside within a few days of using it - I returned it for a refund. "Made in China" - I don't trust their standards - would like to find a stainless steel tea kettle "Made in the USA".

This is a great lightweight yet large capacity tea kettle that you just can't beat for the price. I searched and searched through Amazon for a stainless steel kettle that would whistle yet not cost a fortune or weigh a ton. The Cook Pro 402S exceeds my expectations on all counts. It's light as a feather, even full of water, which is important to me as I have epilepsy and wielding a heavy pot of boiling water can be particularly hazardous for me. I also have a tendency to forget things easily, so the loud whistle ensures that I am reminded that I'm making tea. Seems silly, but essential in my world. The handle and spout are lightweight plastic that do not get hot and are well-designed. It is also easy to clean, which is not always true of tea kettles. As an added bonus, it looks great in my kitchen. I highly recommend this one, folks!

I was purchasing a pet food mat from Amazon, but I did not want to order just one thing. When I scrolled down the page, there were some recommended items for me, one of which was this kettle. Because I have a lot of red, black and chrome in my kitchen, I decided to click on it. It appeared to be a very nice-looking kettle, and because I was not happy with my current one, I decided to purchase it. When it arrived, I was so pleased that I almost jumped for joy; it is one of the most beautiful kettles that I have ever seen! The red is so vivid and shiny, and the black and chrome are beautifully accented by it. I am so thrilled that it just happened to be there as I was scrolling, or I may never have found it. I highly recommend this kettle both for its functionality and looks!

No matter how I have cared for it, rusting inside. Looks good, whistles well. Doesnt feel as "solid" as I had hoped.

It is a good choice. I am happy with this purchase.

Absolutely love the appearance and weight of this beautiful kettle! The design and colour are great and the handle is cool to the touch. The only drawback is that the whistle is low and cannot be heard from the next room if the tv is on. I will still keep it though, and wait in the kitchen for it to boil..it is that nice.
