but it's easy to clean
I use the 10 gallon pot for home brewing and it's worked so well for performing full boils on 5 gallon batches. I use this on a propane stove and it fits perfectly, although, if you're making bigger batches and doing full boils, this may not be big enough.I boil down 6.5-7 gallons for a 5 gallon batch, and boil overs are still a very real possibility if you don't watch the hot break before boiling and immediately after hop additions, but it's easy to clean.Don't let anyone tell you that aluminum is not good or safe for home brewing. It is perfectly fine! It's just recommended that you boil water in the pot before brewing so you can build up the oxide layer and don't scrub hard when cleaning, as it can remove that protective layer. I've not had any batches ruined by metallic off flavors and scrub and spray this thing down after each use.It conducts heat very well so it boils and cools quickly. I don't have a measurement, but the thickness of the pot was surprising for the price. It's very sturdy and won't wobble or flex on you.The only downsides are the handles, which are riveted and will become very hot after a short duration of the flame coming on. Be careful when trying to move this after the the burner has been ignited! Also, the lid is sold separately, and I highly recommend getting it if you're brewing outside. All in all a fantastic value for the budget conscious home brewer!

Built Like a Tank!
This thing is SOLID, I was very impressed with the thickness of the aluminum. Even when full the handles are sturdy with no flex in this pot whatsoever. Heats VERY fast and is efficient, important if you're using this with an outdoor propane burner. It is wide in diameter and heavy, so this isn't a pot you can move around by yourself, at least not when it's still hot and full of stuff.I've used the pot for making chili, stock, rice, pasta sauce, and even deep frying chickens and turkey. If you want to do all your cooking in one pot, this is it. The thick bottom has great heat distribution so you can saute vegetables or brown meat right in the pot, then add the liquids to make whatever you want. Deep frying is also great, you can fit 4 or 5 chickens quite easily. A pot this size is versatile and the things you can do with it are endless. If you're used to cooking with typical department store stockpots than this will seem gigantic. This pot is NOT suitable for use on an average home stove. It is best used on larger gas ranges or even better outside on a propane burner. For those wondering if this pot is too big for your particular use, well here's a tip. Always, always, always go to the next size up than what you think you need. Anyone who has bought a TV knows that once you get it home and use it a few times you wish you bought the bigger one! Same goes for cookware, I have since bought the 120 quart as well!

A BIAB'ers dream!
It is a big. It took close to 1 hour to get about 10 gallons of water boiling on an outdoor propane burner. However, I'm giving it 1 star (for now) because of this black stuff left behind. As recommended by many, I boiled straight water for a half-hour to build an oxidation layer. IS THIS BLACK STUFF THE OXIDATION LAYER??? If so I'll revise my rating. I'm just uncertain about brewing beer in the kettle as it is.UPDATE 5/4/15 - After doing further research, it seems that the black stuff is indeed the oxidation layer and I should not be concerned. With that in mind, I brewed my first all-grain, Brew In A Bag batch of beer a couple weeks ago and this kettle worked flawlessly. I only required a little over 7 gallons of water, which I was able to heat up in no time at all. I mashed for 60 minutes and with the additional 2-layer Infra-Stop wrap on the kettle and lid, the temperature only dropped a degree or two. The rest of the brew day went smooth, and while 15 gallons may be a little overkill, not having the fear of a boil-over was a huge relief. And no, at no point in time was a boil-over even remotely possible.I am docking 1-star from my review because during the boil, I did notice a few liquid splatters appear beneath the kettle. I didn’t see any obvious cracks or blemishes in the kettle but I also know it wasn’t an environmental issue because my brew area is covered. I also highly doubt it splashed out of the kettle since it was essentially only half full. I’ve also read reports of pinholes and cracks forming after a few boils, but in fairness I can’t recall for sure if that was for this kettle specifically. Either way, it’s something I’ll watch out for and will certainly update here if it is indeed a pinhole or crack.

worth every penny
I've bought stock pots before, all sizes, but usually cheap. I decided I wanted a really bid one, but one that was built well. Let me tell you, this thing is not only built well, but huge. The picture posted to illustrate it does not do it true justice. It's almost as big around as the box my 32'' tv came in. My home air filter can almost lay down in it, length wise. As for depth the home air filter will fit and there are still a few inches left on the air filter (16x25x1).The construction on this pot is excellent. I can see no seems and its polished aluminum. Anyone looking for a really big stockpot won't be disappointed with the purchase, maybe overwhelmed by size. This thing is perfect for big crab boils feeding about 35-50.The only con is the lid doesn't come with it. Nothing is big enough, except maybe the big marching band cymbal.

What you see is what you get
its heavy duty, thick walled and exactly as described. for the price you cant beat this stock pot. i am using it as a vacuum pressure chamber for degassing of resins and such, far from soups and stocks lol, but the thick gauge wall is perfect for that. cant ask for more for the price, thanks.edit: i measured the thickness with a caliper and it was 3.8mm at the rim and slightly thinner below. still thick gauge but not the indicated 4-4.75mm in the specifications.

Good Quality
I was worried about the quality of the pot as there is an aluminum pot on the market the is just very thin aluminum and is very easy too burn a hole in. This pot that I purchased is excellent.
