Good supports, good value, and may possibly be used with taller trains, too
(Wife): Ok, I get it: these may not be quite as high as you'd want for taller trains. Fair enough. But, if you have small-ish trains like us, then these may work rather well. Also, I suspect I've found a work-around for taller trains, if you have the space.Pros:Six in one pack, so better value than the Brio stackable risersStackable in both directionsDoes a decent job keeping the track intact, even after our ~2yo daughter moved the entire trackNo worries about the risers easily falling overThe risers stack on top of each other in a compressed manner for storage, when stacked at an angleNeutral:No track on top of risers. This is good, in that you have the choice of selecting the track length you want to place on top; it is bad, in that the track will move around a little, if you don't use tape or glue to secure a small, 2"-ish straight piece atop each. (There's still room to support adjoining pieces. No worries there -- these things have a decent platform length.) So, it depends on how you want to use the risers. Also: 2" straight track pieces sold separately. What you see is what you get (the 6 stackable risers). The legs are secured by screws, so you might be able to remove them and add higher legs, if you wanted. Haven't tried it, though, and they are plastic, so you may wish to keep that in mind. Not sure how these risers would work with the securing clips that some folks use, since we don't use them. We just got a decent track set here on Amazon by Kids' Destiny, and we're finding so far that we don't really need the securing clips with this track and riser combination. = )Cons:These risers may not work with taller trains, although you can stack two together on either side of a ground track, with two further out, and have the train run under the two-story elevated track. To do this, you need two sets of ascending track (4 pieces total). Note: this takes up a bit of floor space. To be expected, I suppose; but if you don't leave enough space for the ascending track to seat well, the trains may be more apt to derail.Difficult to accommodate t-sections and possibly also curved track, without 2"-ish short, straight pieces connecting them on top. (In our experience, the curved pieces / t-sections, etc. work fine, when used in conjunction with these shorter pieces. You just need to have them available to use, that's all.)ConclusionI'm glad we bought these instead of the Brio risers. We can do more with one set, and they seem to be working well. Our daughter already seems to be enjoying these new risers, and I really like not having a ton of track pieces to readjust. = )

Perfect for the Brio Rails.
The perfect height and quality to go with the rest of our Brio Collection.

Good unless you want to run a train underneath.
This is my son's review of these supports."Don't build under these red supports. Trains will get stuck under them."So there you go. A true review from an actual train set builder.Other then that, they are good.

Love them, but a little short
These are well made and really add to the ability to create track designs. The only downside is that they are too short for some of locomotives and some of the cars sold by many companies.

Makes elevated tracks a reality
Who hasn't gotten frustrated trying to delicately balance the weight of wooden toy tracks on simple support blocks only to see them collapse when your child tries to push a train along them? These risers are the answer! They work great and will really enhance you (and your child's!) track-building experience. They are very strong, secure, and also help hold the track pieces together. We also purchased some plastic brackets that clip onto the wooden track pieces to hold them in place - while they somewhat fit into the top part of these support risers, they don't go all the way down. No biggie really, just something to consider.I also really like how the tracks can not only go over but also under the risers. But wait, it doesn't stop there - you can stack the risers to allow triple decking (or as many decks as you want) of tracks. The only drawback, if any, is that they take up a bit of storage space when not in use. This is truly a great idea and as far as I'm concerned a must-have if you want your kids to be able to produce anything beyond a simple track design.

Overall, a good set of risers
As others have stated, these do not work with some of the taller Thomas and Orbrium trains. The outer archways are tall enough to allow the taller trains. However, the upper deck extends a few millimeters below the archway and the taller trains end up hitting the deck. For comparison, it seems like the basic wooden supports I have raise the track 63 millimeters and allow the taller trains to pass under them. The deck on these supports raise the track 60 millimeters, while their archways are 63 millimeters. Now, the deck does screw into the legs (i.e. these aren't a single piece of molded plastic), and the tall trains we have are just barely stopped from going under (see pic). I'm going to see if adding some washers between the deck and legs can raise the deck and still remain sturdy. That said, I don't think you'll beat what you get for the price. They're a nice alternative to simply block supports. They're work well on carpet. They stack well. And for the trains and cars that do fit underneath, they really open up what you can do with your track designs.

Serve it's purpose!
My now 6 year old loved wooden tracks and trains since 2. Over the years we have added to our collection and these support risers allows your child's imagination and creativity to run wild. He went from playing with his tracks for a couple of hours to now making it a multi day adventure, because the possibilities are endless with these accessories.
